Gonna be weird having to join another team after this season.

I'm not ready yet, but it's getting closer.

Bow is still dead on and waiting.

I've been giving this a lot of thought and I've decided that after this season, win or lose, this will be my last season actually participating in the contest as long as I'm running it. If someone else ever takes over I'll participate again if I'm still alive.

My reasoning is that it looks really bad that I've been on two teams that have been repeat champs. I know how bad that looks and it really bothers me, regardless of the fact that it was just dumb luck.

The last thing I want is to be on a winning team again after this season while I am running the contest.

I'll still be on LFTS constantly and I'll still run the contest, so I'll be around. :tu:

That’s silly imo. If there was some big prize I could see the argument, but if it bothers you I guess that’s all that really matters.

Now, that being said, when I dropped the number of team members from eleven to nine, I really wanted to drop to eight person teams. I'm afraid, though, that the smaller teams get the greater the likelihood of an unbeatable team being formed becomes. This is why the rule was established that labels any future "three peat" winning team as "Unbeatable" and that team will be disbanded.

I know that some of you preferred the idea of keeping 11 person teams and having fewer teams. Personally, I like the idea of smaller teams/more teams vs. bigger teams/fewer teams.

You may ask, "Why is he posting all of this here?" The reason is I'm going to leave a choice up to you folks. After this season, would you prefer to drop to 8 person teams, stay at 9 person teams, increase to 10 person teams or go back to 11 person teams? I will create a "Poll" thread in "Bowhunting Talk" for you to cast your votes. The option that receives the most votes will be what I go with.

Smaller teams with greater competition in my opinion…

smaller teams leaves more the chance vs a larger team.
Takes takes away from the camaraderie and if you have a team member or two that is mia for whatever reason then the team is doomed and whole team losses interest.

I've said it over and over. Nobody really care that you're on winning teams. Grown ass men don't cheat over a hat and stickers. Winners just win. Losers piss and moan about winners.

That said, you've made up your mind and who are we to argue.

I realize that most likely no-one cares, but you have to admit that it doesn't look good. A guy who has never been on a winning team takes over the contest and is on a winning team four out of five years.

It has bothered me from the start, and more than you know. Year before last when I saw the roster for the "Big Toe" team I was happy. There were quite a few friends of mine, but I knew we didn't have any chance of winning because with the exception of a few of us we all shot dinks on the regular an had no problem with it.. I was wrong. If everyone on a team shoots dinks and a doe that team most likely wins.

I think I'll enjoy life and the forums more if I just run the contest. I'll still be involved in all of the team threads, the LFTS thread and the Scorecard thread. Oh, and as always, I'll be refereeing the Political Venting Thread.

The rest of us would like it more if you stayed in the contest, you are being too hard on yourself.

I don't see it as being hard on myself Adam. I see it as me being way too lucky after taking over the contest and it looks bad. Anyone should be able to see that.

I hear what you're saying, but you said "the rest of us". I wonder what results a poll would show?

I’d wager the majority would say to stay in it for sure

I have to admit I like that thought, but it's strange after so many years of not winning to find myself wishing I would end up on a losing team.

Who would want me on their team in this situation? :lmao2:

It’s ok my team can just beat you this year and give you your wish. Feel free to stack my team, I’d be ok with that for sure.

    Silliness IMO.

You don't punish success and you don't apologize for winning.

Records are about how far one/ a team can go. 2peat, 3peat, 4peat or just repeat, leaving it unknown is just that.

Eventually Champs will fall, regardless of reason. Every team changing each season only reshuffles the odds.

Maybe instead of you dropping out and disbanding the team, you guys stay together and 2nd place stays together for a rematch.

I don't think it is the running of the contest or who runs it, it's the random drawing of every team but the winner after it ends.

Maybe keep top 2 or 3 teams together each year.
