    For me personally when the Illinois shotgun season ends a feeling of dread and inevitability sets in. The best part is behind us once they are shot at and the season will be over again in a blink with how busy the rest of the season tends to be.

    The week between the two shotgun seasons and then the following two weeks are my favorite time in Illinois.
    Some of my best hunts are in that time frame.

    I wish they would bring shotgun season back for Indiana. Rifle season was a mistake. Now everyone thinks they are Chris Kyle out here parking their blinds in the middle of corn fields, shooting 3-400yds in all directions at anything that moves.

    I have had good hunts too it’s just not the same the build up to pre rut and rut is my favorite time of the year. I’m always out of vacation now too lol
