yup, almost done with the walk by's, I'd like to hit a few places with the long pruner, but may not have time .... Bow, gear/clothing is all set to go, only 3 prs rubber/neo. boots left to wash and stand/sticks to air out ... I dont really get all bent over the regular deer arch. opener any more (damn eye gnats/heat)... I'll go out some, but my vac. time is still spent in the rut .. I swear Ive seen leaf's like those pictured (?) .. I'll be on the look out, maybe peel some bark back to see if those patches are there ..
got back down there today, didnt have time to check the trees that died .. checked 3 more stand locations and checked cams, a few bucks, some big Does, turkey, 'coons, squirrels .. seen a few rubs and even a early scrape ... one last trip to check stand locations in two weeks.. BTW, the acorn crop there is great, been years since I seen it like this, dozens of trees w/acorns coming down like hail .... good for the critters ..
Pic dump, we’ve logged lots of miles since season ended last year. Hunting about 1/2 public 1/2 private here in VA from out near the Blueridge Mountains to the farm country in Central Va all the way across the Chesapeake Bay to the marshes of the Eastern Shore. Oct. 7 can’t get here soon enough.
