Don't know if I'm young people any more, but I will be out tomorrow. I don't mind the heat, work in it most days. Sitting in a stand in the shade is definitely a break for me. Looking for a doe, but would love to eyes on a good buck to chase.

    Oh 2016, what a year!

That buck I could see it's back in the beans. Then as I was watching, he whipped up his head just like buck you posted. I started shaking and it wasn't even deer season yet! That was one of the most amazing moments in my hunting career.

I know your joking, but actually he was a young deer. Could only imagine what he would have turned into in a couple years. But no way I'm passing a deer like that! Haha

I was just thinking about big deer like that today. I've scoured so many places since last year, hung cameras, and found big tracks. But I've only seen 3 bucks I'd shoot, and only one I'd consider really big for my hunting experience. Just seeing one of those really big boys like you killed is an extremely rare event. Seeing and then killing one is amazing.

Even after getting a deer like that, I was able to keep myself in reality. A 140 is a huge deer to me and a very hard goal to hit. My new once in a lifetime buck that I will spend the rest of my life trying to find is a clean 150 class 8 pt. Only seen one in my entire life while hunting.

The cleanest 10 pt on my property I've ever seen. My dream deer. Only picture I ever had of him.

Big deer do that. They spot/smell that camera and just know better to come back. Some old bucks are just in tune with there surroundings. I've had that happen many times. They show them selfs just enough to get our hopes up! Jerks!

My dream buck is a big 6. A few years ago I hunted the last day of season and as I climbed the tree I looked down and saw a massive antler. 3 pt side with some trash near the brows. Main beam is almost 23 inches and that second tine is 10 inches. Big 6! Never saw that deer.
