It’s a little hotter there than it is here. It’s 97 there and 94 here, but the heat index is the same.

We’re just heading into a week and a half stretch of temps pushing 100.

What brings you to my neck of the woods?

My wife’s family reunion in Kansas. Usually we drive, but she wanted to fly this year.

Temp at the house was reading 103 today in NE Kansas. I did see some temps central KS that were approaching 110. Only supposed to get hotter next week. No rain in sight. I fear everything we planted this year is going to be crap. Rain has been extremely spotty. Go to the N side of the county and everything is green. Go to the south side and everything is brown. :(

We are more in central Kansas.
I hope you you guys get some rain. At home this last winter took us out of a severe drought. But we did have a bit of a winter kill

I was on the fence really. Not a Boonerville on the fence, but a wasn't sure if I would or not. I'm just not sure how much time I will get, especially if it was public only. The days of only working 6 days in the month of November are likely over.

What solidified it for me was an official invite to hunt some private land. I don't think I'll get the solo hunting in as I had before, but it is fairly low pressure and a good area.

Thinking if I can talk him into taking a rutcation somewhere in the first 2 weeks of November I could manage that. Already have 9 days off for the 2 gun seasons so doubtful I could do 2 straight weeks unless it includes first gun season.

Anyhow, I should be good for 100pts if I don't have the patience on new ground and maybe more if I do all day sits. All depemds on how much the landowner hunts as to when I can go.

Yep, Clint, glad you joined and I'd happily team up with you. The contest is more than just winning for me. I've never been on a winning team yet, but I've had a blast every year and made actual friends rhrough it. I just love to hunt and have the comradery of fellow hunters. I was asked once at camp LC why I came down to hunt the ozarks if I had potential booners at home. Hunting is more than just killing big deer to me and I think it is for most. Hell, I hope it is.

This year will be back to the basics. Miss having snack sticks and jalapeno cheese sausage throughout the year.

Finally settling into the new position at work, got a bonus and raise earlier this month with an even better year end bonus coming, I'd like to kill 3-4 deer this year and fill the freezer. Have enough heads on the wall.

Would still like to buy a small piece of land before I retire and that actually seems plausible now, rather than just a daydream.

We'll see how it all unfolds here and in LFTS hopefully.

This has been a perfect summer heat wise...I'm so sick of the global warming BS. This summer compared to past has-been filled with rain cool nights and moderate day temps. Global boiling:rolleyes:
Now they are saying early snow in NYS. Oh well just means no skeeters earlier while on stand.
