I see the usual suspects are all accounted for and present. Good to see the core group is still around!

    Ready to hunt!

If you’d been in a climber instead of a saddle :dan: you’d have killed a good buck in my valley last season.

Don't think I haven't had nightmares about that.:sad:For the record, a climber wouldn't helped me get higher in that tree with the way it split.

No, but you wouldn’t have had trouble getting into position for a shot. :poke:

On a serious note, didn’t you say that it came from uphill behind you?

That is correct. If I had just stayed calm and patient, he probably would have walked right by me to the trail I was covering.

As I told you, the majority of buck traffic I’ve seen there is south to north in the morning, north to south in the evening and sometimes the come down off the ridge to the west and head right for you.

I did have one come from behind me in that tree a few years ago. I had no clue he was there until he coughed. It sounded so much like a human cough I thought another dude had walked in on me. I twisted, looked behind me and was shocked to see him coming.

    I blew that opportunity too.

I’d forgotten about that movie. I saw it in a theater on the San Diego Naval Training Center base a few weeks after I graduated from boot camp. I was seventeen at the time.

My buddies and I laughed until we cried.

“So you’d better hit those bunks my little babies, or Sgt. Hulka with the big toe is gonna see how far he can stick it up your a**.”

I should make that my avatar.

LMFAO, I may have to watch the full movie for the 100th time... I was just a young lad when the movie came out. May have been my first exposure to nudity. Maybe thats why it has stuck with me all these years. It's a classic, laughs no matter how many times I see it. And John Candy, RIP, I miss him greatly...
