    I've been thinking about this and I can't think of a really good way to accomplish a reduction in the number of members per team.

    I can only think of two ways this could be done: First would be to use your suggestion: Cut one member from the team that wins this year and continue to do so in following years until the target number is reached.

    Second would be to put teams of 10 up against a returning champs team of 11 this year. If team 8 doesn't repeat then next year we could put teams of 9 up against a returning champs team of 10.

    To be honest, neither of those options sound fair to me.

    I don't have a problem with having fewer teams. I think that having larger teams increases the chance of team threads being more active. If you had a team of 6 or 8 members it wouldn't take many of the folks who don't post a lot to kill a team thread early in the contest.

    I would recommend that as soon as the teams are posted, the team captain should try to get contact numbers from everyone on the team. Life happens and sometimes things come up that pull someone's attention away from the forums and they forget. All the PMs in the world won't help if the person you're trying to contact doesn't log on to see them or have their preferences set to receive an email when a PM is received.

    Yup, I'm not good for a lot of points but I usually put up 147 to 177 points per year. I'm just not a big buck killer, but I'm okay with that.

    I wouldn't let past contest experiences keep you from participating this year. We've all been on a team with dismal participation. It sucks, but the next year can always be better. I couldn't help thinking about a post you made last season about calling dibs on a team name: Arrow Launched. I kind of like it (for obvious reasons). :lol:

    My last post brings up another thought I've had: Everyone, especially the folks that have been around for a long time, should take a look at their contact info and make sure that the contact email you created your account with is still your current email. If it's your current email then I will be able to contact you myself if someone is desperately trying to contact you.

    Not everyone will see this, of course, so once the teams are posted I'll have the team captains let everyone on their team know to verify their contact email on their accounts. Like I said before, though, a contact phone number would be preferable.

    LC, you've done a superb job moderating the team thread.
    I've never been a team player. No team sports in school.

    For me, it sucks being on a team when your in the running to win and have team members not even trying to kill a doe even though they can.


    Bottom line, if you guys and gals wanna sign up for a team, at least give it some effort.
    If you cant/won't, don't sign up.


    Signing up only to dissappear sucks.

    I haven't killed a deer since 2017 and have been on a team every year....LOL sorry to my past teammates!


    EDIT: I've had plenty of opportunities, but I am picky, waiting for a decent 100"+ buck, just hasn't come together yet.

    You could divide everyone up to have 2 giant teams and treat it like a super bowl.
    I think the smack talk thread would be on fire as well.

    I may not be able to ask for scoring help but you guys can be assured . If I need to drag another buck out of camp, I need to concider whether I can get it out or not...lol I'll be out working my tail off for a doe. My red meat diet depends on it
    Wouldn't mind seeing the ability to post two doe up for a team.

    I think the format is good and the team sizes are fine. If we change things up I don’t think prize packages will be as good as the year team 12 all got new trucks.

    Hey @LittleChief if I remember right was it last year you or bowhunting.com sent out emails about the contest and signing up has started? Maybe do that again to maybe remind people or get more people to sign up, just a thought.

    It is going to be different not being on the same team. Except for Ty, we have been on the same team a few times over the years.

    LC, what if shoot an elk that identifies has a deer? :confused:
