I guess it all depends on how many sign ups we have … if we only end up with 8 teams vs 11 - 15 … I don’t know.. let’s see what we end up with I guess

I like larger teams better chance of someone carrying my ass. Just my 2cents.

I'd almost rather have fewer team, but hard to say.

Speaking for myself, I've had some really fun teams over the years.
From my observation, most teams will start strong and post on their team thread (encouragement).
By mid_contest, it starts waning. Near the end, only a handful even check in.

Last year's contest was a deal breaker for me. A few of us tried hard, had a great team thread going and a few members just went "Poof".

I even tried sending p.ms to a few members to see if they could at least shoot a doe. (We were real close).
    Nary a response.

I know it's for fun but come on...
If your gonna sign up to be on a team..., be a part of that team, to the end!
Every year there seems to be a few teams with just a few pages in their team threads.
I'll miss having great guys on my team weather they are great/good/average/ poor hunters but just check in and communicate often.
Even if for some reason you can't get out and hunt, check in and share in the banter.

Hell, Johnny (LC) is usually only good for maybe 150 pnts annually.:whip:, he give it his all.

I'm not seeing any of our Lady hunters sign up yet?,
Some stone cold killers!. Ladies, where art thou?

Woke up this morning and finally had a signal.

Dave, I appreciate it. (I think.)

One thing to remember about the sign ups is I started them a couple weeks earlier than last year. Give everyone some a little time.

Still, the number of participants has been steadily declining.

I'm currently trying to get 2 friends of mine to join the forum and possibly my niece, who kills deer on the regular. I think we are all going to have to recruit people to come here and participate, not just in the contest. I wish someone I knew pointed me here years before I found it on my own.

It seems like the bowhunting league on facebook got really popular the past few years. Could be losing people to that. I’m not here for the prizes, just the sh!t talking and comradery. I sat last year out due to building our house and living in a camper for 20 months. (I highly do not suggest the camper life).

I just want everyone to have fun and win except the people not on my team!

LC you’re going to make the team draw nice and fair like you did 3 years ago right?

Pretty sure LC accepts PayPal or venmo, if you want 'fair teams'..

Sorry I missed this post! I appreciate it brother!

Same wife, lol! I'ts not perfect by any means, but what in life ever is? I'd rather stay with the devil I know as opposed to a devil I don't know.

I can't even imagine the energy/work it takes to start over with someone new with the ..."I'm a queen" attitude. Screw that! LOL!

This post is about last year’s Pink 120 Challenge bet.

I know that more than a few of you wondered what happened to Heckler. I reached out to him via email and he responded. What I was really afraid of turned out to be the case.

Heckler and his family suffered a horrible loss about the time he disappeared. I won’t divulge details as it’s personal, but I have to say that if it had happened to one of us the contest would have been the last of our concerns. I do know that the past seven months have been hell for him and his family.

He does plan to return to the forums and he plans to honor the bet this season.

He doesn’t want everyone asking a lot of questions and feeling sorry for him and I don’t want anyone giving him a hard time about disappearing. He had the most valid reason I’ve ever heard for taking the rest of the season off.

I’ll add this too: When he does honor the bet, the redemption clause still stands. If he kills a deer wearing his pink panties then I will have to do the same.

I was really afraid it was something like that. Thanks for the update and I look forward to his return, bet or no bet.

Collectively us vets need to intervene when folks hound him or ask about it - PM quietly and encourage comment editing.

Thanks for the update Johnny! Sending the most positive vibes and well wishes his way. I look forward to seeing him on here again soon.

I remember back in the day a bunch of us were "friends" on FB, not sure if that is still a thing or not, might help out in dire times or when one of our boys falls silent on the forums.

That is how my boys learned to shoot before I put a .22 and .243 in their hands. My oldest is close to being able to pull enough draw weight to hunt, hopefully by the end of this season. My younger two are still a few years away from bowhunting. But, they have bows and are learning.

I hate that he had to endure something horrific in his life. But, I will be glad to see his return.
