    You have NO bearing on this topic!!!!!

    You are biased to this , need an independent committee to decide this.

    @Tony

    First off I would have said something to LC in a DM to him.

    This was a post in the banter thread. All in good fun.

    If I thought for one second that it wasn't fair I wouldn't have not congratulate LC in the LFTS thread.

    I just think you are all insensitive and everyone deserves a trophy. Having a winning team will hurt the other teams feelings and self worth.

    I do have to say that I would have had a tough time figuring out what course of action to take had my brother’s shot been a shot that would have eventually killed the buck. I’m not sure how that would work.

    In this case I know his shot wasn’t lethal so it’s all good, but let’s say his shot had been a liver/gut shot and it walked by me and I killed it? Who would the credit for the kill go to?

    If that had been the case I know I would have said it was his deer since it would have been dying when I shot it. At least that’s the way I see it.

    Tony and I had this exact conversation the night you shot that buck. Pretty much came to the conclusion that you, being the nice guy, would have tried to give it to your brother. Then, him being your brother wouldn't let you and give it back. Lol

    I've heard and understand both sides in that situation. The person who draws first blood gets it, or the person who put its down gets it. Not sure which way I lean. Guess it would be decided by the circumstances and the person if I was put in that situation.

    I've always been told that whomever hits the vitals first is the legal owner of the deer. But it's generally considered good ethics to split the deer with the other party.

    Crazy to think that stuff like this happens. I looked through all my regs and can't find anything on it. I thought they would mention this scenario in the regs of some sort at least.

    I think that if nothing else we should ban @Tony for a week. And @Germ for a year.
    Wait what are we discussing

    I got into this situation with my brother several years ago, I gut shot the monster mule deer that I killed on a rifle hunt in Alberta. It was a fatal shot, but not a quick one. My brother ended up finishing it off while we were tracking. It is at my house. Had my initial shot not been a fatal one, and his was, it would be his deer.
