I helped a very good buddy of mine connect with a Moose this morning. In Utah it takes a lot of years to draw moose tag. For example, he had 21 points which means he’s put in for 21 years and I have 23 points which means I’ve put in for 23 years. It was a very special hunt.

Just had a nice encounter with a doe that lasted about 25 minutes. That wiley old vixen bested me. She came ever so close to presenting a 15-yard chip shot, then she turned around and went back the way she came. I might have been able to get a shot through that little hole, but I figured she'd keep moving to my left and give me the perfect shot. Not to be...[IMG]

I was going to put that, but I didn't want to offend OND and the others on here.

To be (unnecessarily) clear, the pic was taken several minutes after last visual contact with her. That dark spot in the middle of the photo is a shot I've thought about taking several times, but never done it. Given that it's only 13 yards, I should be able to make that in my sleep, but I've never been seeking to risk it. I think next time I'll bring some pruning sheers and make that opening slight bigger and cleaner. Had it been one of my target bucks is have sent one.

You gotta use a field point for that to work… broadhead is too wide for that level of penetration and won’t reach the heart… a field point will just slip right in.
