Any new contestants in the Southern California Area, or California in general? Last year I think I was the only one hunting Muley or Burro Deer.
I'm limited to deer in one zone this year but I have an additional 4 hunt weeks over last year's Archery Only Tag. I also have antlerless (either sex) incase the opportunity presents itself, like last year.
I know this is a Smack talk thread but any help on Muleys or Burro is very helpful. Most of these forums are full of whitetail tips yet their behavior and patterns don't quite sync with the SoCal deer.

Wish I could help. I'm not sure if there are more than a handful of Californians on here.

Well, all you guys were wishing you were hunting. I’ve already got a deer and an elk. Honestly, I have had a blessed year so far.

    When are you going Bill?

I got 2 buddies out there now chasing mule deer. They haven't heard any bugles.

I hit the road Sat morning, early. Try to meet Brett late afternoon...looking to finish day 1 drive around Topeka and catch some Zzzz. The goal is arrive Sun late afternoon. My buddy arrives Thurs night.

We have my Intell from a few years ago, with some additional info from the biologist (a herd of 40 & 'a big group', a local (believed to be the same big group, with 'a nice bull' and Dan from Iowa's recon of a known herd of '50-60' that hang out in a tricky area on the edge of the unit..

Pic below, my buddy got a few years back, based on intel from the same local as above.

Awesome! Good luck on your trip and looking forward to your updates. Those years of Intel really make the difference. Does take years to gather that info.

Did you mean to say "guaranteed not to win" or was it supposed to be "guaranteed not only to win"?

With my face on your logo....it guarantees at least one ham shot deer this season for your team and an enhanced ability to post memes. You're welcome! LOL
