    oh, great. I guess?
How the F do they get under your fingernails? N/M, I don't really want to know.
What I do know is that last year when I went to check out my new MO property, those little fast bastards were all over me in seconds w/in 50 yards I had them swarming. Crazy

It is impressive how fast (and how many) they can get on you. I went out to shed hunt in MO early spring a few years back and thought it was too early for chiggers and ticks. Made about 30 yards into the tall stuff, looked down and both pant legs were almost black from seed ticks. Of course they were on my legs too, marching North. Basically ran back to the house. Always go with treated clothes.

Guess who got lucky and was smart enough nit to put archery gear in storage! Found my spare triggers. Oh well, I wanted another release anyway.

That wise guy release seems to be the hot buy recently. Let me know how you like when you get it in. I'm in the market for a new one

Be careful taking those first few shots. If it came set the same as mine then it will have a hair trigger. I had to adjust the tension on mine.

That’s strange since I’ve never once encountered “seed ticks” in my life.

Will do. I've seen a lot going around about it, including a couple forum members. I went with the anaconda strap and plain black. They have a Keep Hammering one, but I figure Cam has enough money and free bows for a minute.

Last 2 acres of plots are in. I started to walk the first acre plot and it was so dang hot I went back to the house and picked up my boy so he could just drive me around the plot while I sat on the tailgate running the seeder. This worked so well I am going to do it like this from here on out. It actually started to sprinkle right as we were leaving. Yes! Let's hope for a lot more of that wet stuff this weekend!

    Grow cams are set up!

This is my favorite plot. Road, Corn field, pond, corn field below pond dam and then a one-acre plot on the backside surrounded by a tree line on both sides and a block of timber behind it. Will leave the corn standing below the pond dam as a screen so they feel nice and cozy down in there.

I am guessing that's what people were referring to, they were tiny ticks the size of the head of a pin (smaller than a sesame seed), they move super fast and they bite really quick also. Wood ticks up here move pretty slow by comparison and usually don't bite until they crawl up your body a ways. These ones were biting me on my bare calves.

That’s probably them. We were in the woods less than a half hour, ran home, and showered. Next day I looked like I had chicken pox all over me ha. Little bastards got between my toes so bad it’s unreal. Finally almost home free and going to get some sawyers in the morning when I get off work. Have a TAC like shoot this weekend and I’m going prepared ha

Because they itch and and people scratch itches… if you don’t realize it’s seed ticks and go to scratch it you end up scraping a bunch off and cramming them up under your fingernails.

They’re actually regular ticks (deer, etc) but ones that have just freshly hatched. It’s the first stage of their life cycle. They usually gather by the 1,000’s on a blade of tall grass or some brush and wait there for something to walk by and brush up against them. When that happens hundreds of them jump off onto you. They’re so tiny you don’t feel them crawling on you like you would with an adult tick so you often don’t realize you’ve got them on you until after they start biting. And they’re so tiny and numerous that they look more like dust or pollen than ticks so even if you do happen to see them it’s easy to assume that you just brushed up against something dusty and not realize what they actually are.
