never took it as anything but that.
That is currently and may end up being my favorite all-time hunt. My first nice 3.5yo+ buck, perfect typical 8, great frosty Nov 2 morning, and that's my old man's birthday. I will never forget sending him those pics and getting his congratulatory call. Icing on the cake is all the pincushion nonsense.

For some reason I’ve checked my app like 10 times looking for the sign up thread and didn’t see it. Forgot to hit the sticky button ha! But I made it in! Look forward to this every year!

I will take three misses over one bad hit and a nightmare track job every time.

I’ve been on one track job with you and it was kind of a nightmare. I still have no idea how there was no blood trail to follow with the gaping hole you put in that doe.

Neither do I, she was dead about 80 yards from where I shot her. I had a better blood trail on a different doe in late season that I couldn’t find. I followed that one for 300 yards before I lost it.

Very good question, truth is I'm not quite certain.

I have an invite to hunt some private land in Christian County here in IL. How often amd exactly when are all dependent on the other hunters scheduling. One good thing about that is that I am his supervisor and can approve any time off dates

I have an application withstanding for a special hunt area in my own county, would be good for either first 2 weeks of Oct. or Nov. Actually can't remember of I selected first or second half of Oct. Totally blind without any knowledge of where it will be and cannot access until first day of hunt. I screwed the pooch with it last year, highly doubtful I get drawn this year.

I have shotgun tags for a special hunt public piece, 15k acres, but being IL I can only opt to hunt with a bow if it is private land using shotgun tag.

Other than that it will be hunting the public land mentioned whenever I get a chance. New position at work will make it a bit difficult, but I'll have 2 weeks vacation by that time so may be able to make something available for pre rut or peak rut.

I like my chances for putting meat in the freezer, but other than that confidence is pretty good for getting 100 points. I'm going back to where I was in 2008-2010, enjoying the hunt and filling the freezer. I was blessed to hunt where I did for 15 years and that piece of land afforded me the luxury to be patient and wait for a great buck to eventually show.
