If you plant buckwheat with it the browse might not be as bad..definitely spreading milorganite helps and a spraying deer off at emergent.

I got out an sprayed the clover plots with Imox to try and knock down the sedge’s that are starting to spread, hopefully this will work. Also the plot I put in is still doing well. And the damn bears ripped one of the cameras down.... bastards 3415D8FB-EA74-48FB-8ACE-902F05F61A18.jpeg 33572B82-CFEC-40D9-B751-6281E0FAD839.jpeg 9765F6D4-5B2F-4613-893A-C01EAA69A7B1.jpeg

Checked the trail hay plot and it's finally doing great. Now the soil will be stabilized on that slope. Clover in it is doing very well. I still have not sprayed or got disc on...gee I need three of me. I did get the new area of garden rolled, prepped, cloth put down, fencing put up and 12 of dozens tomatoes plants in. I all ready had raccoon trying to dig under fencing and fabric.. sweet peas are looking great!
Need to spay fruit trees again but the rain that wasn't to start till 10pm soaked me at 1:30. RaIn tonight then all day tomorrow. Hopefully three days of sun before next 3 days of rain.

Disked the oats under from the fall and planted buckwheat to build soil. This is our old motocross track and the dirt had no topsoil left. I’ll lightly disk sometime in august and plant an oat/rape mix I think.

It’s been to muddy any chance I have had and this past weekend wasn’t any different. It’s buckwheat. I think it won’t mind if the dirt is clumpy. Also, planted some native weeds on the hills to hold the dirt. These are two different areas 91ED7870-B28E-417D-90AB-3CA7E79C0DB5.jpeg 953050C0-83A8-4FB1-AAFB-44292F8F52A3.jpeg

I got my beans in a few weeks ago and they're doing great. This weekend I mowed my clover and helped my wife plant her garden. We had to cover some plants for a day because of a late frost but they all survived. This week I plan on spraying my beans for weeds.

I checked the fruit treesand even my blue berries ate show I g signs of bad frost damage....completely killed new growth on a couple of chestnut saplings but they are rebudding.

P.s. how is everyone's caterpillars this year? I had a light breeze in the woods and thought it had started to rain again. No, well yes actually caterpillar poo. They have covered our house. It's also raining leaf parts everywhere.

I cut based on the weeds. Even though the only weeds I have now for the most part are rye grass and the deer eat that no problem. This plot is on year 3 i believe.

Research iron clay or even fava beans. Those would be easier to over seed for a fall plot or interested with a perennial like white clover, tritical, small Burnett which takes longer to establish.
    It's looking good

I think it will be too hot for fava beans down here in da south, I have a local seed store than has a summer plot mix that Im gonna plant. Its a mix of iron n clay peas, lab lab, soybeans, sunflowers and sorghum , 50 lbs is only 36 bucks. If we get some decent rains before the usual August drought I should be good to go till I overseed in September /
