Little minisode from my farm last week. My food plots are done, could definitely use some rain in the next few days.

I mowed the lower fields and around d mast trees. I need to Bush hog the hay plot. The upper fields are mostly mowed , still wet. So the feed corn I bought from local farmer got 80%germination. I'll be planting that with the old sorghum seed and planting straight wildlife sorghum and some of that in the soy/ cow peas. The hay plot trail has good growth now, I have 5#'s of clover to plant as well. I may get help getting disc on today

Mowed some more clover plots today, also mowed 2 locations on a satellite farm for new plots. Weather has been perfect here in Ohio.

Things are looking real good here! Mowed my clover plots for a second time and got germination on my new ones and my screening.

If they don’t get browsed it will be a killer plot, I had big dreams last year but it failed badly. Good luck man!

You never know brother. I have only done beans one other time and right after I seeded we got a record number of days with out rain and I lost the entire acreage. We will see though

Anyone know what will herbicide kill sedge but not harm clover? I’m getting a fair amount in with the clover and I know that if not controlled it will probably get out of hand. I’ve done some research but have not had much luck

    Raptor but it's crazy expensive.

    Or Clethodim or 2 4d

You weren’t kidding on raptor.... is there a generic for it? I tried Clethodim and it did nothing, any specific brand of 2 4d ?

I hired a dozer man to clear about an acre of My land to make a food plot , My little 13.3 acre property is covered in Mature timber , a mix of big Ga pines and lots of medium sized oaks, The land slopes down into a flatten out area that is mostly junk trees, Sycamores, poplars and ash. That is where Im putting the plot, They are starting the work next week and said it will take him a few days to push the trees down and clear all the roots. As soon as hes done Im gonna take soil samples to send off and start the prep to planting something, Havent decided what to plant yet, Ill post some pics of the progress, Heres a few pics of the area Im having cleared, first is an aerial of My little D shaped piece of central Georgia heaven with the area to be cleared circled in yellow with the deer trails in blue. And a few pics of the area before its cleared.
