Arrowflinger, I got 1.25 inches here. A few areas within 20 miles got 2_3. Was a true blessing for the wildlife farmers and ranchers.
W grains have a first week of Sept through early Oct. ..this so it will winter well. I'll be ordering my seed next week.
I really wish I would have got that, the trees are so stressed that they are dropping leaves already.
We got a little rain last night and early this morning. I'm still trimming trees along the wood line and my lawn area. The cherry trees are dropping a few leaves but they're always the first do do so. Them or the poplars. Some of the soybeans around here are starting to turn yellow also.
I'm expecting the corpses to get hit hard soon because the farmers bean field are shell beans that are now turning yellow. So he'll be harvesting them soon. I'm thinking he'll lay down winter grains and clover after. That or just grains as a cover for corn next year. wow corpses hey...I wrote cow peas you would think as many times as Ive written cow peas. the devise could handle it...
Had an issue with my foodplot tractor. Drove 60 miles this a.m. to get a fuel line. (84.00) 6 hours later and having to hiring a mobile mechanic, she's running again. Good Lord!!
Went to check property yesterday between down pours. Found two ladder stands with limbs the size of 6 " diameter trees in them more trees blocking trails, you know I'm getting real tired of this! Several areas that had flood waters flow through, all fall plots looking like a bog and some with soils washed away. I was to terrified to open any blinds and check them...the bees here are very very angry. I'm not getting stuck many feet off the ground and opening a blind door to a hive. I'm wondering if any of the plots will dry enough to actually plant. Things so far long term in weather days of storms. I cleared so much debris from the trails, trees are pretty weak right now. I'm thinking this is the wettest summer I've ever seen and I've lived through forced dam opening floods . Those were single events, this is months of rain. Now this is my winter predictions on snows. If winter temps hit late we will get deep late snows and a late spring. I think seasons are shifting, obviously just an opinion...we'll see. Ps We use to be zone 5 then 5b. Now I see mostly listed in 6
Feast or famine.....it feels more like gluttony or famine, I know a lot of you would love what we are getting.
Called about my seed today, I'd have to wait for the beardless WW, so will go with 200 # of WR, triple 15 and some clover maybe alfalfa.
Oh boy Oh boy that Navy Pelosi ..MIGHT.. be one mega devious witch. Biden is sinking like a rock. The powers that be send Harris off to Vietnam, well of US soils. Then hhhmmm.... their is a Havana attack in" the general area of her....Hhhmmmm who's next in line?
Made it back up to the woods, put up 2 more stands and Fertilized all the clover plots. At least the ground up the is damp and everything is showing a little relief. More rain is on the way they say Thursday, Friday, Saturday… damn I hope they are right on that. Both of the fall plots I planted are starting to germinate so hopefully they get enough rain to get going, fingers crossed.
90 degrees and I decided to lime the middle woods trail plots and then hand till it in. It's 1/4 total area one trail is a bit . Over 200 yrds and the other a hundred yards. I got the 200yrs section done will work on the other tomorrow. This s adjacent to the farmers clover
Do ya think?...Lol. I dont want to delete it but can't move it with this old Kindle. I have a help request out to get it moved.. Happens when ones doing several things at once.
I'm not ashamed to say...I'm dang tired! 64 and in 90 and high 80' hand tilling an aea this size. Only a few more passes and done if I never pick another rock ,ya right! Needed to be done though. The pic with tiller, terminates at the farm cloverat the sky line you see. The other two pics is the longest trail that winds through middle of the property. It connects to the tiller pic and the new plot behind the house.
