Suuuuppppeeerrrrr slow season for me, I’ve found 2 sheds and a 2 deadheads. This time last year I was in double digits. We have cornfields on all my properties so it makes it a little harder to find em.

We also didn’t have many age class bucks to search for, me and my dad found the biggest set possible from our home farm. I’ve been throwing together some quick minisodes of our walks.

1 more. On to the next spot for 1 more quick walk before I head back to MN. Will upload a pic later. Only 1 pretty good one and matched up a spike.

Didn't see anything more promising in South Dakota so didn't walk anymore there. Stopped at a place on my way home and found one more little one.

That's a heck of a spike! Need to measure that thing. We could have a largest spike contest, the one I picked up on Saturday was 10 6/8 long, by far my biggest spike ever. 20210309_192441.jpg

    Nice seeing your fellas bones:biggrin:

Drove by a fellas house 100's of times over the years.
He owns just shy of 300 acres on a bowhu ting only refuge.
I've seen some tremendous bucks just driving by it would make your head spin.

Local legend has it "don't even ask".

Well I did today. He invited me in for coffee and said "sure, have at it"
I know of several booners and 200"+ nontypical that lived close by or on the property.
    Giddy to say the least:nana:

I took a 2 hour walk yesterday on that prime piece.
Nadda!!. Looked like very few deer wintered there (as the owner said).
But overall, what an incredible piece of land!!.
    Steep hills,swamps,fields and creeks.
Iffn I had big $, I'd offer way over market value for it!!.

Looks like you also inadvertently found a nice way to darken up bleached out antlers with the puff ball spores.
You made sure to tap your foot on those puff balls a few times, right? I can't hardly walk by one without doing that lol.

Grabbed another hitlister Sunday, 5 sheds on the year. Still a slow pace but I’ve been getting the ones I wanted. One more to go.
