I have my eye on the XOP Edge, question is if I want to wait that long to start using my saddle... I’ll probably end up being impatient and getting the predator platform in the mean time then I’ll see what the edge looks like when it comes out!

Go to the Cruzr website and check out their new platform. It's called the seeker. I really like the design with the front portion being slanted down for your feet. If I hadn't already purchased the predator xl I'd be looking hard at this one.

Hoping to get out on Tues to scout. Been so busy at work with people leaving and out injured/sick. I need some time in the woods.

I hope you get a pic of that big boy you had on cam and had a close encounter with last season. You were all over them last year. This is your year man.

Got out today and pulled some stands, I was also able to do a quick scout of a secluded cove off a lake near the house, I found some impressive trails and a good amount of rubs from this past year, I was able to pick out a tree that will be perfect for the saddle

Minerals out at one location and 2 cameras set up. One on the site and one on the pond for some springtime birds. Extremely wet right now with all of the snow melting. Did a few miles of walking and found one deadhead (2 1/2 year old 8pt).

Likely get out again this weekend.

Walked for 2 hours today. Picked up one solid white oak grove......then on the way out I started seeing signs as NO hunting, game sanctuary. I walked for 2 hours for nothing. haha

Check OnX or a similar app, maybe pick up a county plat book. Those signs could be illegally posted to keep killers like you out.

I’ve been hitting the scouting as much as I can get away with, so far located two new bedding areas and a couple stands of white oaks that should be awesome this fall, can’t wait for fall! But for right now I’m just hanging out in the backyard practicing 63793958330__F2DA5909-0A10-454A-B08A-F3D5448C0C54.JPG

I checked the main map afterwards and it was listed as being a protected area. I was just an idiot. haha

Going to kick the tires on a no-till drill today... 10ft, priced like someone is going through a divorce since it is only a year old and only used once.

Spend a good part of the day clearing shooting lanes, setting up a
    Few new stands.

Gotta admit. Hanging stands alone aint as easy as it was 20 years ago:violin:.

One thing I've learned is: always clip brush, trees lower then needed this time of year.
Come fall, new scouts will grow.
Shot 7 "chizzelers" (red squirrels) around the cabin today.
    Kept Roscoe happy.

Got out this morning to put a cell camera up in a bedding area on some public I checked out last week, got to an awesome spot found a couple beds and a little further off found what I think was a buck bed, should be fairly easy to hunt, anyway was standing looking at this bed and up jumped a deer so I got the camera set up and got out, 11am rolls around and already had two coming through! Excited to saddle hunt this area this year only 15 minutes from work!!

Had one of the most vivid dreams ever last night. Was scouting our beans/corn late summer with my brother. Just sitting on the edge around 830pm. Deer started piling into the corn from our woods. A beautiful velvet 10pt steps out from us at 10 yards and all of a sudden my brother yells “HEY THAT’S MARTIN” and he runs off. I never have dreams where I can remember something so vividly... it was actually crazy.

I never name deer anymore, but my main buck this year just might be called Martin.
