Man what a horrible year here in southern IL. We finally had a few huntable birds in the last 2 weeks of season. And what i mean by that is theres a few hundred in the couple sq miles around me. We managed to get 6 this morning and had a few more close calls. Sailed one we couldnt find.
King eider are more common on the west coast compared to the east coast. Probably what you were thinking.
Looks like a couple Mandarins in that first picture. Pretty cool, wonder where they escaped from?

pretty crazy! Biggest shoot over decoys I’ve ever been a part of is 165. That’s a lot of birds to clean!
It sure is a ton of work but I do miss snow goose hunting.
Slow season here. Good variety of birds but numbers did not go up until feb. This was my only mallard for the entire season.
