Just amazing how terrible (with the exception of the pats of course) that division has been for the last 20 years. Sure the jets had a couple good years about 10 years ago, but my god what a terribly easy and embarrassing division. Again, the Patriots are maybe the best team of all time, with the best qb of all time (my opinion) and maybe the best coach of all time. But, what a pitiful and sad joke of a division. How can a Patriots fan honestly get excited for a game with the Jets?
I am in no way excited for the game this sunday against an unknown quarterback! The division has been horrible for sure. I wouldn't mind a shiffle in the divisions, to put the patriots in with the Ravens, and Steelers.
Why shuffle divisions? Why not just have the AFC and NFC, 32 teams and 16 games currently. Top 8 from each division make the playoffs seeded accordingly. Assures the top 16 teams are in the post season and the best play. Every team plays every team in their conference for the Crown. If and when they go to 18 games, have the 2 extra games interconference cycling on 8 year intervals. Sure it would suck to see that AFC/NFC rivalry like the Steelers/Cowboys(best one that comes to mind) every 8 years rather than 5, but it still keeps the top 16 teams in the playoffs each year. Divisonal games are good games normally, but they are also dangerous when you face a dirty defense twice a year. Suh, Burfict and a few others out there and more to come I'm sure. Play every team in your conference, alternate home games each season and let the best team win. Maybe if the XFL takes off ( ) and then folds yet again, 4 more expansion teams can be had and move back to 3 divisions in each conference again and try it again with less divisons.
With Ben out of season I see the Ravens running away the division this year, but I don't see them beating Brady. I would be very surprised if the AFC Championship game isn't a rematch of last year again with the Chiefs and Patriots, but even with the firepower the Chiefs have I don't see them beating the Patriots with AB, Gordon, Edleman & company. In the NFC I think it comes down to Philly & the Rams. I know it's early, but those are the two teams that appear head and waters above the rest right now with the exception of maybe GB.
You guys should have heard the mob calling for Mariottas head this morning here in Nashville, poor guy looked like crap but dang if the O-line wasn't trash. Hard to let a guy get in a groove when he's getting put on the ground that much; 17 sacks in 3 games. I realize the Titans are not a talking point here.
