Can someone summarize the last page for me. Too many acronyms I'm not even sure I'm on the right forum anymore lol. We're still talking about hunting right.
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Saving PHTLS - Prehospital Traumatic Life Saving (Saver) NAMBLA - North American Man Boy Lovers Association (if I remember Generation Kill appropriately) The first two are for my paramedic program.
Looks like I struck out on getting in on 600 new acres this year. No lease, but I met the group of guys hunting it and they are all pretty cool, so who knows. Anybody have new ground they are excited about?

I will be hunting on a golf course and the undeveloped property surrounding it for the first time this year. I have done a lot of scouting there (aka looking for deer, bedding, and deer sign while I play golf) and have picked out several trees that I've limbed up and gotten ready for my climber as well as a few spots for a ground blind. There are a ton of deer out there and they are all pretty fearless. You can literally walk up to within 20 yds of them and they'll just stand there watching you. I am pretty sure I can spot and stalk hunt and just walk right up to one in the middle of the fairway. It's never been hunted before and I am the only one hunting it so I am actually thinking I'll hunt my property for most of archery season and save the golf course until rifle season and/or the rut starts. My thoughts are that since its never been hunted before and I am the only person hunting it this year, once the hunting pressure picks up a whole bunch of deer are going to head to the golf course because they associate it with safety from years past. Also, there are a lot less golfers around in November and December compared to September and October so that's another bonus. Getting in and out is going to be super easy too since I can just drive a golf cart out to wherever I'm hunting and park it. It's a practically silent mode of transportation and all the deer out there are so used to seeing golf carts that they're going to think its just business as usual until an arrow flies out of the woods and pokes a hole in their lungs.
That sounds awesome! How did you talk the owner into letting you hunt the golf course? You'll have to keep us posted on how that plays out. I wonder how fast the deer will learn something is hunting them. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
You can hunt the morning and then play 18 grab a shower in the club house and jump back into the stand! Probably the best hunting spot ever.
The The country club doesn't own any of its land or facilities, it actually leases it for $1 per year from a holding company that owns the land. Basically 50 years ago, my granddad and a few other guys around town wanted a country club and golf course so they created a corporation, bought a bunch of land, subdivided it, and each kept a parcel for themselves to build a house on. They also sold home lots to other people and they used the proceeds from those sales as seed money for the country club. After he passed away I became majority shareholder and president of the holding company. We still have a few lots left in phase 1 of the development plan and there are about 700 wooded acres in phase 2 & 3 that we haven't even started developing (basically roads and infrastructure are built but bylaws don't allow us to start selling parcels in the later phases until the 1st phase is completely sold). We only sell a few lots each year to cover property taxes and any maintenance needs for the neighborhood and the rest just sits there unused, so I set up a hunting lease for myself on all the undeveloped land. And since we only charge the club $1 per year to lease the 150 acres of land they are on, they really couldn't complain when I added a clause to their lease allowing limited hunting by those approved by the landlord.
I didn't even think about that prospect. Thats genius. If i'm bringing my clubs I guess ill need to put socks on all my irons so they don't bang around and make a bunch of noise on the way to the stand.
Leave the clubs in the car or clubhouse, unless you're playing. Less noise. Any problems with coyotes in your part of the state and around the course? Seems to be a growing problem in most areas.
They’re around but aren’t as rampant here as some places but theyre getting worse. Big issue we’ve had lately is a rabies outbreak. The neighbors dog got attacked by a a rabid bobcat last month, and a rabid fox attacked the preacher who lives down the street 3 weeks back, and I put down an obviously rabid raccoon last week.
That's because you went ahead and jacked it all up and in my attempt to fix it my phone auto-capitalized when I put the period after 125. O.o Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
