    Yes sir it is. And for the record I’m good with a population control fergie. I was just trying to state how it could provide an advantage to some. Good luck on your hunt, I hope you fill the freezer:biggrin:

    The rule ia simple really and pretty clear.

    A button buck is not a fergie buck. An antlered deer that meets the criteria of your states DNR tagging rules is your first buck.

    Basically if you have to use a buck tag to legally tag him, that is a buck regardless of being a fergie.

    The fergie was implemented to count every deer as a minimum of 50 points in instances a 3" spike was shot, you wouldn't have a score of 25 2/8 or something.

    Here a legal buck must have one antler at least 3" long, otherwise it is antlerless(this does not apply to hunt sites with point restrictions).
