I've decided- KY. I can do it w/o any additional cost (no new gear to buy) and I can get there in less than 6 hours; which means if I strike out in early season I can make another trip or 2 in January after my other seasons close.

I’m thinking about giving Type II Land a try in East TX this season.

Yes I have seen a few decent bucks just while going for a ride the last few weeks believe it or not. One giant out by himself in a field at like 4pm about 30 yards off the road. Didnt even care when I stopped the truck to watch him for a minute. Are you still hunting MA?

00000393.JPG I've always been hesitant with my cameras on public land even if they were relativbely cheaper ones ($50-100). Lately though we've been using the super cheap Tasco cams from Walmart, think they were like $19. Surprisingly enough the pics are ok and the battery life is decent. Just an fyi for anyone who might want to use some cams without risking any $$.

    that's a really nice wide 6!
how is the trigger time/range? I'd say the pic resolution is pretty good.

Not too sure on trigger speed and full disclosure we did get them on sale. Looks like normal price is between 24-34 depending on where you get them. It says the range is 50".

I have some WGI cameras and they can be had pretty cheap at Field & Stream (29-39 if you use a 10 coupon) but where we were there was only Wal-marts so we tried the Tasco.

I can deal with fuzzy pictures as long as they're not fuzzy pictures of deers' butts as they go out of the picture frame view. My #1 disqualifying factor of a trail cam is slow triggers .

I bought one to try out this summer and so far pretty impressed. I think it's taken over 5000 pictures already.

All my hunting here in Utah is on Public land. So most my life I have hunted public land, but We have a lot of Public land. When I go out to Kansas I hunt the farm.

Heading out in the rain tomorrow morning to do some scouting, and I think I'm going to hang a camera in my new spot!

Nice, I’m hoping to do my first public card pull next week. I saw a decent buck about a 1/4 mile from my spot today. Im betting I got a few pics of him.

Me too. I put my cam in on July 8th, so this weekend will be 3 weeks. I'm like a little kid at Christmas, I can't wait to see what I got! :tu:

I’m staying out of the woods for a while. Got ate up last Sunday with Turkey Mites or Turkey ticks what ever they are...brown chiggars. Head to toe. Now I look like I’m on meth
