I’m 15min early which is late for me. Not allowed on base til 0430! Hunting a subtle saddle. My sits here now are more for scouting then anything. This looks like a good spot just hope the woods are some what open or my morning is gonna rough lol good luck boys.... kill bodies.

Just when I start thinking about how nice it would be to have a gf/wife. This site never fails to remind me of all the positives ;)

You just need to find one that likes the outdoors. I meet mine at the local archery range.

I’ve been hunting public land for the last twenty four years, and I gotta say I feel your frustration.

Along with everything you mentioned, I’d like to add drugs and alcohol. Today around lunch time I setup a stand and when back to my truck for lunch. This is within the law so no big deal as long as it’s gone tonight. Anyway on my way back I find three guys standing right in front of my stand. They were hoping to hunt the area as well, they didn’t see my stand. I showed them where I was but said if you want to hunt here that’s no big deal. I can move. One of the young ones said yea but the older man said no I was there first. I really didn’t care either way.

What I did care about was that one had a beer and was chewing snuff, one was chewing spitting on the ground, and the other was smoking, two cigarette butts on the ground.

I’m sorry but I’m a little tired of our society being so tolerant of this crap. I have to be tolerant of their addiction but they don’t have to be tolerant of my sobering smell-less bow hunting self? I guess this is why the Bob Eyler thing bothers me so much. If you are going to drink smoke and do drugs while hunting you have no business hunting imo. I grew up with drunk orange coats and I’m quite sick of it.

Ok im on the public land train! Last night I got to see the fruit of Bretts scouting in a great area, though we missed the deer by a few days. It was awesome to be hunting in the big woods with deer sign though- I will certainly continue this style of hunting

Scouted a piece of public Saturday morning before heat and mosquitos drove me out of the woods. Had my two older boys along to try and get a squirrel with the pellet rifle. No deer and no squirrels. Didn't get into the two spots I really wanted to look at, they were too far of a hike for seven-year-olds.

Trying to plan a trip for next season in Kentucky. Never hunted the state. Suggestions on good WMAs to bowhunt would be greatly appreciated. Good luck y’all.

Nice work Josh! That's a dandy.

Headed out for my first sit on IL public this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Going in somewhat blind to a spot I scouted this spring. Not sure what current sign looks like but there's only one way to find out...

I shot a Pennsylvania public land doe last night. 18 yard shot, 50 yard recovery. It was my son's first tracking job, he had an absolute blast! 20181019_070308.jpg

Good luck! They should be on their feet this weekend. Scrapes are starting to heat up here in PA. I'm hoping to see a big buck on it's feet this weekend, or maybe fill another doe tag.
