This time of year, I am lucky to make it a week. My patience is very short and seems like I am getting new bucks everyday on camera.[/QUOTE] I agree. Now that my daughter's travel softball season is over (basically last 3+ months) I will have much more time. I am trying to do it a bit less than I used to bc I feel I would go in too much to check, but it sure is hard.
I am moving all my cameras from my house to my main property this weekend and beginning the long soak. I'll grab them in oct.... If I can wait
I don't but I hate them.... My main farm has a pond that edges a kill plot and the entire season I need to listen to the hundreds of Canada geese that chill on it and a few ducks
The pond is 25 yards from the owners house but I'll ask. If they want them killed( I've never asked as I have no interest) you got first dibs
My brother makes goose jerky that is about as good as any I've had. It is the best for the treestand. He usually makes 10-15 pounds of it.
Pulled 3 cameras yesterday from 1 property. They were there almost a month. The good buck I had on camera in the beginning of July was nowhere to be found. A couple of smaller bucks and a bunch of doe. No free passes this year. Passed on quite a few last year then ended up with nothing. Venison is sparse in the freezer. That is my #2 property will be checking cameras on #1 property tomorrow if it ever stops raining. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I grew up in western NY and started bowhunting in 8G (Ogden, Hamlin) back in the day. I have a lifetime license and still hunt and fish in NY from time to time. Good luck this season.
I know the area well. Hamlin for the "beach" and Ogden for the blink and you'll miss it town by brockport
I am in a big rush to get my 4 acres of food plots in the ground after work today. They need to be dragged, seeded and bedded. With rain forecasted in the next 7/10 days, I think it's finally time!
