Packers and Rodgers expected to finalize deal by end of weekend. Deal will be largest in NFL history and will tie him to Green Bay beyond 2 year contract and most likely his career.
I’m sure it will eventually happen but meanwhile I’ll believe it when (ex packer) James Jones says so. He seems to get the scoop on the other so called NFL insiders involving Rodgers and Green Bay related topics. Until it happens I couldn’t care less. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Per source (James Jones) it’s being signed as we speak. Rodgers is a Packer for life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good. Glad they got it done before the season. If he's going to play for 4 more years I hope the Packers build for those 4 years and not "for the future" like a former GM who will not be mentioned would have done. I'm so glad he's gone.
It’s a 4 year extension to his remaining 2 years for a total of 6. He’s signed through age 40. Most of it is signing bonus meaning we actually have more cap space now. Also no “opt out” clause so we can technically franchise tag him 2-3 more times at the age of 41, 42, 43 for top rate money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hopefully they can save enough cap space to allow for a K. Mack trade? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
He can play ball, but he's been susceptible to injury. 7 years ago was his only Superbowl win. He'd better hope that O-line wants a good gift this Christmas. Being paid the most does not make you the greatest, just means you're the one that the team cannot afford to lose. 7 years ago he last won a SB and never before that. Not knocking him, just don't think his risk is worth the risk so to say. 2 collar bone fractures in 4 years is a concern, and the higher the tag, the bigger the target for the defenses. See if he lives up to it.
