A lot of people truly think bass tastes the exact same as walleye/panfish. All taste preference. I think it tastes different but many people I know fillet and eat em with 0 problem.

Not saying it is the case here, but a lot of times I hear that question asked it is along the same lines as someone who shot a young 6 point. A doe is so much better eating etc....

Trophy hunters and trophy fisherman, same ideology different quarry.

I have no problem with either one, I catch and release a lot more than I keep but when I'm intent on some fish for the platter size doesn't matter.

My wife on the other hand won't touch em. They are alot stronger in taste but cooked certain ways helps with it.

My daughter is having some great luck. [IMG] Memorial Day Cat fish.

[IMG][IMG]. And a carp. She wants to go hunting with me now. She's hooked on fishing.

Headed to Mille Lacs this Sunday. The fishing is absolutely incredible right now. Will be fishing with leeches and bobbers (something I've never done in summer).

Granted you cannot keep fish... If anyone wants some amazing fishing I highly recommend making the trip and supporting local Mille Lacs businesses. The lake is not pressured heavily as the walleye restrictions are in place (can't keep any fish) but the amount of big fish you catch in a day is incredible. It is also one of the best smallmouth/musky fisheries in the USA.

Hope I have some pics after this weekend to show.

Jake see if you can find some small night crawlers, they work awesome. What side of the lake are you fishing? I always loved the rocky south side.

The plan is to hit the west side. Focus on the breaks right out of Garrison (plan is to try and find fish in the rocks).

Weather doesn't look promising now that I'm looking at the extended forecast. Still a long ways out.

Had a blast during my birthday weekend. For our first time ever me and the buds placed 1st and 8th at our yearly tournament. 8th was my 14.5# Laker and 1st was my buddies 8.5 walleye, that he caught on my rod and reel FB_IMG_1528464983354.jpg IMG_20180610_135215.jpg
