Sleeping bag, good pair of boots, waterproofs,map/gps, good daysack unless you plan on staying on the mountain for a couple of days, that will mean taking a whole load of kit like a Jetboil, sleeping pad, tent or bivvy . Will has a vast knowledge of UNIT45 and he shares that knowledge with all who attend, you may not kill an Elk, but I guarantee the experience and memories you take home will soe the seeds of a knew addiction that will leave you wanting more and counting down the days to the next Elk Camp. If you give Will or Dan enough notice, Will will provide you with a cot, more food than you can handle, knowledge, an experienced hunt partner or a good location to start your hunt if you wish to hunt alone, I've attended this camp 3x and love meeting up with the new faces and old friends from previous camps, most of which i class as close friends. Trust me, if you can make this camp.... do it! The rewards are worth it
Man I wish I didn't just buy a new boat this year otherwise I could swing it. I am going to plan on coming 2020 though This looks like a good opportunity to experience a elk hunt.
Im just glad I dont have to see you ugly mug this year!!! Jk you will be missed. What dates are you going to be hunting? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
This is an amazing opportunity, I will probably have to wait until the 2020 but man I wish I knew of this earlier I might have tried to swing it!
Looking for some advice on a day pack for this trip. Would I be able to get by with my trusty old hunting back pack? or should I have something more? If so, some suggestions on brands, size, etc. Thanks.

I would recommend a pack frame of some kind do if you are lucky to kill one you can pack it out. Im running a kifaru frame and a 7000 ci pack. Im only using a bag this big beuse i plan on living out of it for as long as i can. Alpz makes a decent frame at a good price. Good boots and a good pack are important for comfort reasons. I' hunting from 28th August, a little later than I prefer, but I wnt gonna complain. I found that the opener is definitely a better week. I hope to fill my tag and then it'll be Camp No Name the following trip, look forward to seeing you soon.
5 months to go and the boards are quiet. Myself and 2 others will be heading to unit 45. I plan on bringing my own tent and food stuff but will mingle with and share any help that we can with Elk Camp hunters. Wish I could get there early and stay late but not everyone has the time to do that. Wil has a encredible setup for all that want to participate and hunt, you will not be disappointed.
Id be happy toanswer any questions you might have. You can text me at 641-455-6135. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Might be hunting another unit in Colorado this year. This is an option we are looking at also. Thanks for the heads up.
Doesn’t sound like anyone is going elk hunting this year. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
