Well I sat at my house tonight which is notorious for doe only, so as I stood facing into the wind looking for doe I thought might as well sit for a bit. As soon as i sit down and look left (which was behind me while I stood) I see him...GD monster at 40 yards.
I'm tight like Burt n Ernie at 40 but he is in the $hit and I need him to come 6 yards closer. After 15 mins of him standing(downwind) smelling and waiting I decide to throw the bag at him...I started with doe piss...then the can for come hither big boy, still nothing. He starts to walk away so I grunt
Nothing...snort wheeze...nothing.
Moral of the story boys.
All the $hit you spend money on only does one thing....takes your money.
I will be hunting him for the next few sits.

So highlighted is the property that I hunt. The guys house and property is right next to the northeast corner of my property. Highlighted in orange is the timber I cannot hunt because of the close proximity to this guy at the landowners request. I’m the only one they’ve ever let hunt and they hate this guy because he trespasses. He had a tower blind right on the property line with windows and open over the property line. The guys had no business hunting there at all.

Well I gave it all I could but couldn’t get a good buck to show up. Sat all day today just changed stands halfway through but nothing except small guys. That ends my 6 day hunting vacation.
I will keep trying to get out some and will take one of these small bucks now that the ruts over and the heavy gun pressure will start. I hope we can seal the deal on 1st place.

Well here is the buck I shot in Indiana. Really wish I could have found this old guy but that's how it goes sometimes. I am just glad that the neighbor who found him gave the head to us so at least I have something.

That sucks man! I’m dreading that possibility at my place this weekend. Bout 2 weeks ago neighbor set up a ghetto little trailer mounted shooting house and feeder not 20 ft off the property line next to the main pinch point/travel corridor to the south. I’ll be sick if they shoot one of my big boys...

 

Heading to my farm... at the end of my driveway was the big 8.... hope it's a good sign
