Never had any luck with horns. What’s the secret. I’m sure it’s location but never have rattled one in besides the small dumb ones.

I have great success on one side of the road I hunt, and on the other it scares the bucks away. A good buck to doe ratio I think is the key

it doesn't work every time. I use real antlers from a 2 yr old buck. I don't hit them together very hard. I just tap them together then rotate them in a way to crate a clicking sound like fighting. watch deer fight they push and rotate more then ramming each other. plus I hunt mainly clearcut or unbelievably thick stuff.

I'll be skipping out of work a tad bit early to hunt my new stand!

I have one last work trip and then I will be in stand Saturday afternoon. The weather for next week is kind of rainy so I may have to sneak out and throw up a ground blind some place during one of the showers so I have some cover if needed.

I’ve got two college roommates coming out this weekend to hunt my rut properties. I am trying to put down a doe before the weekend and the time change because after that I will be SOL for after work hunts.
Checked a camera last night and well...[IMG]

Good morning in the tree. Got rained on some but saw a few deer. The young bucks were on their feet so hopefully in the next week or so the bigger boys will be cruising as well. Trick or treating with the wife and kids this evening.
Good luck to anybody that will be out this afternoon!

Our rut usually runs starts around the 2nd or 3rd week of November and of course rifle season runs Nov. 17-Dec. 2. Hate it man, I haven’t hunted with a gun in probably 3 yrs but Oklahoma’s seasons definitely cater to the lazy hunter...:biggun:
