Glad your buck made it Airenlow and that other one is a giant!

Fix, both of those bucks are nice and I’ll agree with you on the age. Both could be 2.5 but neither are older than 3.5 IMO.

Sitting in a tree this evening. First time I’ve hunted this spot this year. Sitting about 10 yds inside the trees in somewhat of a travel corridor next to an alfalfa field. We’ll see what happens! My #2 was here Tuesday evening at last light and was here yesterday morning in daylight as well so fingers crossed he shows up tonight!

Shot my bow just now and it's dead on. The bad shot wasn't caused by my equipment...

Getting the rain gear ready for this weekend. Looks like it’s going to be a wet one.
I’ll take any advice you all have for hunting rain. I will be out there and I have a good idea of where to take my climber, wind permitting. How would you attack a rainy day sit. I plan on sitting to noon sat morning cause of the does I have on camera at 9:30-10.

Any opinions? Field edges? How productive this time of year for bucks in the rain.

I think you were in the blind on that hunt right? Any chance your limbs caught the window. I know that’s an issue cause you want to lean into the open. I know I have popped the blind before but you would usually hear the loud pop.

Not that I noticed, but it is possible. I'm 6'8 and have to be pretty precise with my movements in the blind.

Well it’s good to see him coming back.

6’8”???Do you have to sit Indian style in the blind...haha/jk. I know I don’t have much room in a blind and I’m only 6’

Pretty much. I sit on a milk crate because anything else is too tall.

I tend hunt inside the timber or big woods in the rain. Or if you have a big woods that opens up and has an alley where the deer will be traveling through. I’ve seen some good bucks during rain and will hunt a light drizzle any time I can this time of year

Had deer all around me this evening but no luck. I couldn’t figure out why the does kept blowing at me. I was 20 ft up with trees and thick cover all around. Heck I couldn’t even see half of the deer that were blowing. Still almost closed the deal on a doe but she got spooked as I drew on her. As she trotted away I turned back to hang my bow up and there goes a coyote strolling by out of range... As soon as the sun went down, several other coyotes started going nuts just to the north of me. I hate coyotes...

Hunting in the rain.... make sure you have layers and stick close to cover I have seen deer move like crazy in a light drizzle and also very little so it can be hit or miss. I should be in the stand here by 2 that is my plan. I am gunna bring the horns and see if I can make something happen!

A light rain, cool weather and a steady wind is about as good of conditions I could ask for at the end of October. Silent in, silent out and it seems like the deer activity rises. I’ve killed my best deer in the rain.

I haven’t had the best of luck in the rain but I haven’t really hunted rainy days this close to rut.

He’s hanging with the Dilater...he’s been MIA this year. I had one deer show up on camera with a goofy rack and he’s clearly a 4.5 year old deer which Jeff would be too. Any opinions? First pic is Jeff from last year, second and third pic is this new buck.

That was my thought as well. Figured it wasn’t him but then thought I was crazy. I’m hoping to see at least one of 3 bucks I’d shoot tonight. Haven’t seen a deer in the stand my last 5 sits
