2018 Champions. THIS THREAD LIVES FOREVER!!!!!

Headed out for the first time this season. Got my little buddy with me tonight. This will be the first time Hudson has got to go hunting with Dad so he’s super excited as you can tell from the pic...lol

 

My #2 from last year finally showed up, but his left side is jank. He gained a big brow and lost all other tine length.

 

Is he practicing being still...

 

Sitting in a new stand and checking things out. Have a scrape right below me.

 

Had a good ten show up tonight just didn’t close the distance. Watched him smell every tree limb in sight for about an hour before sundown. Things are definitely getting better.

 

Well no luck tonight. Had 2 doe & 3 fawns come by at 10 yds, which was cool. My little man did great at being still and quiet, super proud of him! The bucks didn’t show up tonight but they’re there, just a matter of time.

 

It's such a perfect morning, besides not seeing a damn thing

High pressure front coming in and great wind tonight though.

 

I don’t want to jinx it but this seems to be the best to be the best sustained cold and forecasted weather we’ve had in October in a few years. Possible snow next Sunday

 

I slept in this morning...I was at a wedding last night. I’ll be out tonight over the cut corn field

Just had a small 8 come through(9:15am) to eat acorns. Perfect 10 yard shot. Walked right by my ladder sticks as he left. Can’t believe he didn’t wind me. Love this stuff. Hope you all are getting out. I see fix is out good luck man.

 

This morning went from 0 to 100 in about a minute. About 15 minutes ago I had a really nice 130’s 9 feeding towards me, got spooked into the corn by something behind him. One of the biggest bucks I’ve seen around here came feeding through at 83 yards. He had points everywhere. Matching flyers off the G2’s. I’d guess he was 160’s (conservatively) from the 2 minutes I got to watch him

 

Saw 5 doe this morning and got Busted by a deer behind me! snuck right up to 20 yards and snorted. I about fell out of my tree, scared the crap out of me, I would have shot her too. Plus a coyote and a fox! It was a great morning! Good luck to whoever is going out tonight!

 

For those not following live from the stand, I got tired of passing the "wide 8" and took a shot this morning. I aimed low, expecting him to drop, but he just stood there. I'm pretty sure I only hit brisket, so I've backed out and will head back mid afternoon to search.

 

That my friend is not a good color. Give it as long as you possibly can. Min 6-8 hrs. And if financially viable go from jump street with a dog.

 

Well I have a real old mature guy that I haven't seen on cam. He scores like $hit. His name is " Back to Front wipe "

Sorry to hear about the low shot. At least you have seen bucks I have a feeling with the number of does in my little corner pocket of woods it will only be a week or two before they start showing up!
