I feel like me talking trash will most definitely come back to hurt me during the season. I even think being in any contest is bad juju for me, but here I am!

Three years ago I was given permission to hunt a guys property who had 9 acres. I thought hey you never know so I hung a camera and figured I could at least shoot a doe out of there and not over hunt the other spot or two I had. I pull the card after my first hunt. Mind you I shot a doe that came in but did not recover her before the coyotes tore her apart. I'm pretty sure I alerted all the deer to my presence and messed the spot up. Anyway when I got home that night and put the card in the computer this is what was showing up... gol.jpg g.jpg

I had one encounter with him at 33 yards that year but had no shot. He made it through the season and turned into this...

Last year the land owner moved so I can't hunt that property anymore. I contacted one of the landowners nearby but she says that her property is a sanctuary for all animals. I told her his head would be in a sanctuary in my office if I got him. No I didn't but I kind of wish I did lol. Anyway, I'm holding out hope that he is still alive and I am waiting to hear back from one of the other landowners that borders this property. I'm still hoping, wishing that I get to see this deer again.

That is one of the few deer I remember vividly from this site. An absolute monster. My fingers are crossed for you!!!

I started out in Erie hunted and worked in Warren and southern NY for deer and ducks up on the lake. A much better hunting season and bag limits here in VA than PA. I get up to visit family two or three times a year

Looks like I'm captain eh? I shall lead us to the promise land! Hopefully putting something on the wall that's over 140 this year (unless its Jeff) I don't think Jeff will make it to 125 but he's a bad a$$ looking deer! Ill probably be more active during the evenings and during my lunches at school but ill be active every day! Lets have some fun I love this contest. Gotta keep the win streak my team won the turkey contest this year!

Ben, did you message Troy? It shows he was on the forum today. I can send a FB message too, if he doesn't check in soon.

So we are all here and look to be active which makes for a great year. I think we should be getting one more guy in a week or so. Benny is our fearless leader so next is the name discussion.
