Day 2 of the hunt. I have taken over 15,000 steps and haven't seen a deer or even hear one blow.

7 does and one nice buck spotted tonight. Too warm to be taking care of a doe right now so they got a pass. The buck got a pass because 113 yards isn’t in my comfortable shooting range.

Had a bunch of Doe behind me in the field but nothing on my plot. I'll be in my back yard tomorrow morning and should be able to get some jerky stock

View from the stand tonight. The does we’re traveling up and down the different lanes feeding. Decided to do that so the wouldn’t stand out in the middle out of range[IMG]

Update: 18,000 + steps and seen 1 deer. However that deer was a shooter whitetail. Got within right about 50 yards wind kept swirling the whole time and blew him out. Maybe tomorrow will be the day fellas.

I’m in a serious state of depression right now. The Cubs lost in the wildcard game and it’s 85 and 25mph winds out of the wrong direction today. However tomorrow will be a high of 59 with an easternly wind!

I was walking to class this morning and had a nice young 8 run across the footpath in front of me......if only the university would open up a controlled campus hunt!

I struggled harder than I should of with this in Syracuse. There’s a huge old cemetery that held piles of good bucks. We would go back and rattle this time of year, they would come running like we were ringing a dinner bell and could care less about us sitting there in jeans and hoodies. Here’s some crappy pictures of one evening.

All we have on campus at NIU is geese and lots of them. I’ve got some prime goose fields if anyone makes the trip

Update: I have walked over 16,000 steps today. Chased 3 mules this morning but I lost them in the sand dunes. Walked a mile to my spot this afternoon and forgot my quiver. So a mile back to the truck and another one back to my spot and jumped a buck right as I was getting into my spot. It's also 96 degrees. But alas, Im still not as hardcore as fix in his matrix glasses #Iamnottheone #fixisneo
