I let the wide 3 y/o 8 point walk. He was at 10 yards also. Tank of a body, but he needs 10 more inches.

Well I increased my poundage on my bow so I had my local shop make me a new sight tape and they will have my new arrows cut and fletched in a couple days.
I leave for Phoenix tomorrow for a week and I should hopefully be in the woods next weekend when I get back.

    Good luck everyone!!!

Do I go back to the same spot tonight? It's supposed to be 78°, so I'll be sweating my butt off. The wind is favorable though. I want to catch them before they disappear in October, but I don't want to stink the place up and ruin it for the season. Ugh!

I'm out. Did you see Justin sweating in BHOD? That's me now, after a .08 mile hike to the blind.

Tomorrow is our opener. And it’s looking like rain for most the week. I saw an absolute giants
(for NY) Friday evening feeding in a fresh chopped corn field. A 160’s 11 point. Huge split brow and a double throat patch. That was around 5:30 pm. Definitely got me fired up

Also Illinois’s opener tomorrow. Got some weather coming in tonight and most of tomorrow so I probably won’t get out until Tuesday night. I’m pretty fired up about the season it’s go time!

10 yards again tonight. My blind is just out of frame on the left. I might kick myself for not shooting the blurry buck.

Leaving in the morning. 6 hour drive to the panhandle of Oklahoma. Got a good solid 5 days of hunting. I'll try and keep you guys updated.

Nice and cool morning on my way to work. Drizzly with a Northerly wind. But work... it only gets better from here though! Good luck for those who are out!

A few really bad screenshots of the buck I saw the other night. He was an absolute tank. His body made his rack look deceivingly smaller than it was.

Best thing about that Tank is it makes me feel ok with not inviting you out to hunt my land even if you live 30 min from it

I definitely have been blessed to live in a great area for whitetails HOWEVER, your grass looks greener.
