It's not bad. First day sucks second( today) is loads better. But wicked headache due to the blurry vision all day. If my progression remains constant this weekend I might be able to shoot my bow....but idk.

I went and scouted from the top of my truck last night. Between two hayfields there was 25+ deer. 2 great bucks and a handful of little ones that were having fun getting pushy with the does. Going to try to get out one evening this week to scout again. Just not going to have a good wind yet to get in there.

The winds aren’t looking all that good for me next week week but I usually have deer coming from every direction except from the west. Rarely do I get the elusive east wind

If I get anything North-ish, I am golden. Saturday is supposed to be ENE, and my little buddy is going to be ready with a .243

I get nervous with a west wind but I’m high enough in the tree and the deer come from a valley that my scent blows right over them

Just a couple minor things need done before I can hunt in the morning. Switch from dull practice Muzzys to sharp Muzzys, wash and scent crush all camo, find and pack all accessories, put hitch cargo rack on the Jeep, turn the kid's bathroom back into the hunting bathroom, etc. I need more time!

I can't find the car charger for my scent crusher bag! :bigcry:

Edit: Found it. Some genius put it in the side pocket of the duffel bag.

I ended up seeing 8 does/fawns and a forky. The buck and a fawn were in range, but got a pass. That might have been my best sit in a couple years!

EC855499-87CF-4B81-BEC0-F840C2CD75C1.jpeg Anyone else build their own target. I got the material from 3rd hand archery when looking for climber accessories and built this 4x4 target. It has really helped when trying to do things like walk back tuning and just giving you plenty of area to set up different shooting dots.
Bow is shooting solid after new strings and I am just anxious to finally get out hunting. 1 week left until I am able to get out. Good luck you guys with the early part of the season.

I'm building one. Just need to purchase the wheels. I'm making a carpet stack target.

I was shooting this morning and heard a rattle and couldn’t figure out what it was on my bow. I was hitting exactly where I wanted just left and right often. Turns out my sight was bouncing up and down the screw got rusted and wouldn’t turn so I put some lubricant on it and got it set again just need to get it dialed in once more.

Can’t do it tomorrow I’ll be at the bears game, bummer right?

Today was my best day of hunting ever! I had the millionaire 10 at 10 yards, but it was too dark to shoot.

    Total I saw 6 does, 5 fawns, and bucks of 3, 4, 8 and 10 points.
