well i have to hunt it tomorrow since i will have a perfect wind and a major blizzard. deer will be feeding like crazy. after tomorrow the wind will be out of the south which is no good for this spot. but i have another good spot for my blind which arrived today. a south wind will be perfect for that spot. i will shoot the first big doe i see tomorrow.

That latest entry buck of 119” just shows how bad I am at scoring a buck by looks. It looks bigger than that to me.

It also shows how “inflated” some of the other buck score entries are...

Well, looks like old man winter is going to finally give me the cold snap that i need to hopefully get these bucks on their feet during daylight. Just in time too, as our season ends on the 15th. Saturday is D day boys and I will be in the tree waiting for a buck to show! If we could pull this thing off, it would be Epic!

ok. so i took someone on this sites tactic to my advantage. i went in early and moved my stand 10yds to a different tree just to throw the deer off. lately they've been hunting me down. i also had the correct wind tonight. i was watching about 4 or 5 does for a while about 100yds off then i heard a crack. but the trees were cracking off and on from the cold temps so no big deal. i decided to check out the sound just incase and wouldn't you know a buck was approaching fast. the cool part was i saw him deliberately look at my old stand location on his way. the move fooled him for sure. the only shot he offered was about 35 yds through some fine branches. i knew it would be marginal having to shoot through a 6" gap between a couple trees with some junk in the way. i have done this before with muzzy fixed blades so the hair sized limbs didn't bother me. another reason i'm a fixed blade guy. so i let it fly and i heard a weird pop. i wasn't sure if it was the limbs or maybe i grazed one of the trees or something. after about 10 minutes i quickly got down to check for blood and found a blood soaked arrow. as soon as i saw the arrow i knew it was liver. i knew i had to immediately track him since it was snowing so hard and there were deer tracks everywhere. i found him in bad shape bedded and put another arrow in him. this was all by 5:00. i'm guessing him to be 100" to 110". i'll measure him once i get time.
