Haha, I’m with you there. Somethings are better left untouched.

I might get sent to this storm in the Carolinas. That would help keep me from checking my cams again before season!

Their saying this one will be bad. That area has been beat up in the past 6-7 years.

Good luck Joe. I’m sure it will be nice to watch the sun rise and the woods come alive.

Thanks Camo, but more like sun set. I won't hunt any mornings until late October. The exception to that will be my public land mule deer hunt the first week of October. For small properties I've found morning hunts to be even worse than checking your trail cameras every other week. It alerts the deer to your presence and keeps them out. That's been my experience anyway.

It took me way too long to figure it out. Or a combination of figuring it out and finally learning from my mistakes. Now I will say some people have easy access spots that they might be able to sneak into. Or maybe have enough land that taking the early season early morning risk won't hurt them too bad. I'm just not one of those fortunate people

I'm split on this. I enjoy mornings but I have (like us all) listened to the pod casts and videos and interviews with ppl saying don't hunt mornings etc. I think it's all about your knowledge of your property. I have stands that I can't hunt at night ( unless I get in it crazy early) and I have sets that I cannot sneak into with out blowing deer announcing me for hours. Obviously from 28-14 it's thunderdome .....no rules!
But if I can't get in I try to figure out why and work around it. But then again I am far from a pro. I have the luxury of knowing I'm not going to scare off a booner....since I don't have a property that holds one

Im blessed with great access points to my 3 stands on my 10 acres of woods. Majority of the deer bed on the neighbors property that nobody hunts. Great neighbor too gave me access to go get animals whenever. I’m able to hunt mornings whenever without getting busted or kicking up deer. I’ve seen some good bucks and had good encounters early on where I hunt. If the crops come out early this year, I think they will, I’d expect to have a buck down by the second to third week of the season for me

All the sweet corn fields just got picked but I won’t have any time to goose hunt them before the early season closes. I’m praying that my farmer doesn’t plow the field after the harvest like he did last time it was corn. First time they ever did that they’ve always been no till farmers. It ruined my season when they did

I am a inside wireman but I deal with the lineman mostly on the contractor side. They jump ship and work the storm
