I'm getting in a stand at 3... Wind has died down to 20s but gusts are going to make it fun still.

Currently 34 degrees and a south west wind not exactly ideal for the sets I want to hunt, but the set that’s perfect for the wind I haven’t seen a deer in a couple weeks while hunting. Not sure where I want to sit tonight

Leaving first thing in the morning to head to Indiana. Not sure what the hunting is going to be like since our plots all roasted this summer during their drought. I hope to at least put a doe on the ground. I am going to give it a couple days but if the buck prospects don't look up I will take the first decent thing that offers a shot.

Went out to a spot for a first hunt on the property. I'm in a section where three properties meet. I'm facing the corner hoping to draw a deer out of one property's timber or the other one's field. I'm about 20-25 yards away from the other properties. Guy in truck assuming neighboring landowner starts driving his truck down the property line turns and passes me at the corner and follows the fence line that separates him from the property I hunt. I assume he had to see me or the decoy I had set out. 20 minutes later he does it again. Except instead of circling all the way around his property he goes part way then turns around and goes back by me from the other direction. He then pulls out the field and left. If he would of come back around again we were going to have words. I'm not sure if he was looking for a cow or if he was deliberately trying to sabotage my hunt. I just don't know. Regardless I took my stand down and will set it up on another property I hunt. I don't know the landowner that allows me hunt there that well and don't want to cause any problems so I'm just going to move on. I'm also not going to waste my time hunting there when the neighbor is practicing for the senior citizen version of the Daytona 500. In all seriousness I respect farmers and he might have a good reason. I'm just not sure how to interpret the events that transpired this morning.

Well, that 10 pointer just popped out from the thick stuff and walked straight down wind and stopped at 40 yards behind a bush and a tree. He’s big.

The projected wind for tomorrow morning changed, so I get to hunt my best property. Same spot where I passed the skinny 8. I'm feeling pretty darn confident...

I'll be hunting long mornings this weekend and then pulling all days next week.

Looks like I have to (or get to) attend first round for my daughter's sectionals tomorrow night. I'll be out in the morning and everyday after that until the 12th

They were 1 point away last year. This year not as likely but it's her last year and I can't get this chance back once she leaves.

That buck stuck his nose up and walked away like a SOB. He’s moving in daylight and that means he’s a dead deer walking. I’ll be out immediately after I’m done coaching today. And might go all day tomorrow.
