Alright I hate admitting when I’m wrong, but I was wrong. The new arrows I bought has nothing to do with a better penetration. Once I moved to 30+ yards, they are no different than the Axis arrows. There is a difference in weight and along with the stiffer spine, they seem to be flying smoother. My arrow weight did go up 55 grains.

I got my main property finished up today. Set 3 stands, checked 2 cams and threw down some turnip seed in the plot. My best buck on cam is about 115", but the big boys will swing by in Oct/Nov...hopefully.

Tomorrow I plan on setting a couple more cameras and trimming lanes at another farm. I’m way behind this year but I’m fine because I’ve stayed out this year. I’m hoping I’ll have some deer come back that weren’t around last year. When I have beans on the farm I hunt the hunting is stupid good. As Fix remember my old friend “Jeff” may be back this year with the beans. If he’s still alive I guarantee he’s a super freak.

My turnip seeds from yesterday just got an unexpected half inch of rain. Score!

It's the definition of a poor man's food plot. I just picked up sticks and scratched the surface with a hand tiller. Everything struggles to grow here because of the shade, but it always has buck activity.

Hey guys, sorry for my absence from our team forum the last few months. It was a busy summer and there is no sign of things slowing down until November. Coaching both of my boys fall baseball teams (10 & 6). Had my 31 yr old brother in law living at our house since last November (long story). My boss resigned 3 weeks ago and with the down turn that the oil/natural gas industry is in currently, I’ve taken on his duties along with my own for the foreseeable future until they decide to fill his position. As you can imagine, I’m way behind on prepping for our opener on Oct. 1, but no worries. I’ll be ready to go when the time comes.

Anyways, I’m excited to kick off another season with you guys and see if we can defend our crown and repeat as champs!
