Weather right here near lake Ontario changes by the minute. Thursday and Friday look like low 70s and Saturday might rain. If I'm lucky enough to get a rain Saturday I'll be finishing my prep and pulling cards. This is the first year I've been able to stay off my land for August and Sans one more prep day I'll be staying off it sept too.

Well I did a bunch of prep work this weekend but not the whitetail kind. We are inducing on Tuesday so the wife has had me cleaning and taking care of odds and ends all weekend.

I wouldn't know what to do if I ever seen that many deer in a field.

It's county property...no hunting. We used to see 15-20 bucks a night, but the numbers have been down the last 2 years. It's still fun to stop and watch them for a minute though.

Hoping to get in the woods tomorrow after school and take care of my last prep work. Then I’m out of the woods until opening day. Gotta get on some early goose hunting while I can too

Can’t wait for some goose hunting. That and preparation for Elk in Colorado is keeping me out of the woods luckily until October. Woke up to 80 degrees at 4:15 this morning for my run. Not feeling like deer season quite yet.

I broke down and checked my Kansas food plot today. First time I've seen it since I planted it. It actually looks good. First plot that I've planted that turned out alright. That's what happens when you lime and fertilize correctly. Clover is coming in and the turnips are too. I don't think the deer have really discovered it much yet but that's ok. Once they do they will probably hit it hard.

Waterfowl was my first love but the river around where I live isn’t worth a darn for ducks and geese anymore. I gotta hunt fields with my NRCS buddies whenever they go. I’m trying to go to Arkansas and Kansas in January and do some duck hunting

I’ve got some real good friends who hunt Arkansas every year. This might be the first year I join in on the insanity. If it weren’t for archery hunting, I’d hunt ducks any chance I got.

Amen to that I love to hunt waterfowl. Archery hunting is my passion now due to the lack of waterfowl hunting in my area now.
