Well... I went out into a hay field tonight that's right next to my house and hid behind a round bale and ended up seeing 2 huge bucks that I never knew about! My boss/landlord owns the hay field and the land that the bucks came from, so I'm going to see if I can get permission to hunt on his land! The one problem is that I think my boss is having financial problems, so I'm probably going to wait a little while until I ask him. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I've dropped everything that I was doing to go to work when he was in a pickle, so hopefully it won't be to hard. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
15 pages of people signing up the same way. And yet there are still people doing it wrong in the middle.

I just want to say kudos to the guy(s) who put this contest together every year. It looks like a lot of signups and a lot of work to organize the teams for all of us to have fun. Just giving credit when it's due! Now, let's roll!
It's got to take quite a bit of time getting all the teams drawn, organized, double checked. I'm sure Brad is on it from reading his earlier posts. it's an F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 kind of morning!
Finally got out to shoot my bow! I haven't shot it in 7 months. I think this is pretty good at 30 yards since I haven't shot it in so long! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I had planned on taking nov 5th-9th off. That would be 9 straight days of hunting. I'm thinking now I should take oct 29th- nov 2nd instead. Shot my best buck on oct 30th 2 years ago and last year saw way more rut/chasing activity in late oct than I did during the first 2 weeks of nov. These decisions shouldnt be this difficult.
I'm hoping to get out to my bosses blind tonight to watch some deer. I ended up getting busted by those big bucks I saw on saturday night but ended up seeing a spike buck with some super tall antlers last night.
if you're not on my team; go ahead and take Oct 29-Nov 2 off...if you're on my team; you're crazy not to take off the 5th-9th!!! (actually; that's not a terrible phase for either time frame. Anything beats full moon phases during first week of Nov.)
Love your enthusiasm and willingness to scout. Just make sure you are not being to intrusive in your scouting missions. If you're getting busted, you might be hurting yourself more than helping yourself at this point. Now that you've confirmed the bucks are there, I'd either scout at more of a distance with binocs or use trail cams to get a better idea of movement. Just my two cents. Good luck!
I agree with what you say. I always try not to be too intrusive when I scout. I went out right after church and dinner but ended up going out at the last few minutes of light and they had already started their treck out to the hay field. If I decide to go out tonight I'll go about 1 1/2-2 hours before they come out. Once I get permission to hunt out there I'll put some cams and a feeder out there.
