Yes sir, can't beat pheasant meat! I pheasant hunted ALOT in high school but our population went to crap from ~2009-2015 because of the hard winters and wet springs. This is the first time i've taken the time to hunt again since my senior year of high school (2008) and am still trying to figure out why I don't do it more often! I will certainly be doing alot more of it in the future since my bow and waterfowl seasons are always screwed up by harvest and weather.

Hunted the big water this morning for the split. Scouted my butt off the past 3 days and probably saw nearly 50,000 or more canvasbacks each day. We even camped out all night for our spot but the cans didnt want to play, probably had something to do with the 9 million other boats out, definitely no secret they were there. Fun morning anyway, we settled for a few mallards and buffies.

Hit the field this morning, mild weather and lack of wind, but managed a few.

Nice!!! None yet for us so far, but know of a group of guys in our area last week that went out and shot a good volley of birds that were all banded, crazy! 12 birds shot all 12 banded. All from New Hampshire and Maine.

Nice birds man, I’ve been thinking about getting into waterfowl myself. Something to fill the void on Sunday’s. Since no deer hunting on Sundays in VA

Don’t do it, unless you never want to deer hunt again

So true to both these things. I plan on getting a cheap boat setup this year to add space and hunting room since I got a new puppy. Hopefully I’ll have her ready to go when the season gets here.[IMG][IMG]
