Mainly Wisconsin but I’ll be making the trip to Michigan to hunt with JPT for a few days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We will be leaving for Saskatchewan in a little over a month. Geese are starting to land in fields at home...time to start scouting. Fingers crossed for a better season this year!
getting excited! not sure where I'll go for opener this year, near home, or out west in the prairie. Dont think I'll be going with my cronies this year... also, my pup is getting older, I may layoff the bowhunting more the next couple of years and focus more on ducks and pheasants
Went through the gear the other day. Everything looks good. Need to buy a few more things before the season. Also put the gear on the pelican to see how it will sit when on the boat. It will fit well and I could get 2 dozen deocys on there no problem. Next will be doing a run on the water before the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Winterizing our sprayer last night and 30 geese dumped into our pasture. Less than 2 weeks now! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Maryland here. Mostly western shore with a little eastern shore mixed in. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Early goose opens tomorrow and like clockwork, my field that was getting hit every morning with 50+ geese has become bare as of Thursday! Taking my neighbor kid on his first waterfowl hunt so was pretty excited to see what would come of it but now it's not looking great. Likely hunt traffic in a pasture now.
Pretty bad opening day... the fields we had been watching lost their birds a couple days ago and we tried running traffic. Short stopped by a few and didn’t end up killing any. Seems there is way less birds around than this time last year. Hopefully we can just get some cooler weather! Looking like its gonna be 90 all week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds like my morning. Lost our birds, tried running traffic and I had about 50 yard visibility all morning due to fog. Worst fog I've ever hunted. Rain the next 6 days. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Good to see some birds on the thread! I didn't get out this past weekend and likely won't again in the coming one. There are very few birds around this year which is a little disappointing when this is about the only time of the year that I have to do much hunting anymore. Did find a nice .8 acre, 3ft deep pond out in the middle of a 160 acre piece of CRP. Unfortunately it's public but not many know about it or want to work too hard to get to it i'm pretty sure. Will likely wait into October to give that a shot.
Illinois along the river and in the creek bottoms. Don’t have as many dry fields that are worth a darn anymore but I have a little sweet spot one mile from the house that is hit and miss but has a place in my heart. The geese are roosting on it and flying in way late. Went out once last Saturday in the pouring down rain and we managed to knock down 3 blue wings. How’s the teal report in everyone else’s area?
Killed 2 hunting with my old man on Saturday. Only about 20 birds using the field and they came in one group lol, we each killed one. Always a great time nonetheless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Our duck/goose season opens on Saturday. We've gotten 4 inches of rain so far this week and still raining. Going to try to find a flooded field since we won't be working now.
Got my lights mounted on the duck boat. Hope to have them hooked up this weekend. It’s gonna be a bright ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What do you guys think about this? Looks like a snow/ canada hybrid or a speck/ canada hybrid?? Of course I found him, 600 other geese, and a dozen bands where they cant be hunted Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
