Gotta love NFL replay Everyone has their own perspective on what happened. No one knows what a catch is or is not anymore. Just as I was saying last week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And before a silly argument is made, when you cross the plane of the endzone the play is over. A play anywhere else on the field is a moot point, and had this play occured inside the endzone I would agree with the ruling as called.
I think it will create another Brady tuck rule type of situation in the off season. I'm over it, bring in the post season.
No it is a reference point to try to appreciate your aspect because there is something to playing the game, coaching and teaching the game, vs playing fantasy football.
Either way, I think the Pats have the bigger concern going into the post season. This result was expected, yet they did not win decisively. Jacksonville is the biggest threat right now IMO, and that is for any team in the playoffs not any one in particular.
Is what it is, they said Miami was the chip on the shoulder New England needed. We now have a chip on our shoulder. Hell, the way New England has been playing they shoyld be wary of the bye week. Coming out a bit rusty is the last thing they'll need. Hope Pittsburgh gets the muvh anticipated rematch(regardless of what was thought during regualr season). Surprising to hear Brown is expected back for the playoffs, will be a huge shock if that is the case without a bye(and somewhat even with one).
You playing the game 30 years ago is not close to today's NFL. I know you coach it but you're coaching high school/middle school kids. I respect you coach kids but stop with the "I played and coached football so I know the rules." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like how everyone is focussing on the catch no catch as its an easy out. What about ben not spiking the ball to stop the clock? ***EDIT***( Just heard the post game interview that it was NOT ben's call) They could have had THREE chances after that. but like i called it, stupid stupid...play calling, and a piss poor decision by coaching staff. I didn't watch that play again, but noticed on the replay no one else ran a route. They said post game sgow that it was likely a Ben call not a coaching call as Rogers was the only receiver that ran a route. Hopefully they get a chance to do it again, doubtful Ben comes back next year.
I'd still like to know about Roethlisberger's hand. He hit it just before the two minute warning in the first half. Never threw a pass outside of play action range after that. Ran the ball 1st 3 downs, I have a hard time believing it was clock management rather than injury.
I love how you've said this 3 times in the last day or two. For as much as you hate the Vikings it's nice hearing that you've already got us in the big game.
Agreed. As a Steeler's fan, the TD reversal stung, but that was terrible management at the end of the game. He definitely shouldn't have forced that throw. Stings more because, and I mean this as least spiteful or homerish possible, I feel like the Steeler's out played the Pats overall up until when it really mattered. That's how it goes, though.
Yep, simple mistakes with huge consequences. Goes all the way back to the Cowboys Superbowl. Came out dominating the 2nd half and O'donnell throws two INT's. I'd trust Ben in the final 2 minutes more than any other QB in the league. I think he threw Haley under the bus in his post game interview. One more reason I don't think he will come back next season, which will suck. All that star power without a QB to utilize it will be harder to bare than how ever many seasons it takes to get another one.
