Archery here at home in WI, then out to SD for archery opener again. Trying some new areas, since EHD hit in our usual spot last year pretty good. Then it'll be home the rest of the fall.
I think 2017 will be the last year I only hunt at home. My Daughter gets married the end of September and my son graduates from college next May. Woohoo the $ obligation for the kids is coming to an end.
I'll be hunting in Ohio the second week of Nov. Other than my Edmonton Bow Zone hunts, this will be my first out of state hunt.
Hunting at home for deer and ducks this fall. With my third son due on Oct 8 and my two older boys being old enough to hunt for the first time this year, an out-of-state trip wasn't in the cards. Alberta elk hunt September 2018 though!
Ducks and geese in Canada (maybe), Minnesota, Illinois, and Missouri. Whitetails in Illinois, Missouri. Coyotes into the winter on many cattle farms in south central IL. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'll be in my usual spots in MA and NH but I just got invited to a hunt a piece of property in RI by a family friend so I'm looking forward to that.
I will be hunting 3 different locations in Wisconsin. 1. A private piece of land about 60 acres that I have permission to hunt. This is 15 minutes from my house. Primarily I will use this as a place to hunt when I don't have much time to go. It is mostly ridges of large oaks. It serves well as a great place for doe bedding areas. I don't have any nice bucks on camera yet but I'm hoping there is a shooter that will show up by October. 2. A piece of MFL near agriculture fields. The place where my stand is located is more of a transition area where deer are moving to and from bedding to fields and vice versa. It's a really fun place to hunt, and I usually see deer there. I need to place a camera at this location to see if I can get an idea of the quality of bucks. This place I will most likely be happy to take a doe if I can since it's located in a doe management county. 3. My third location is a very bold and risky choice. It's a 3 mile walk into some very bigwoods in Northern Wisco. There are over 10,000 acres of land to hunt. The reason I'm drawn to this piece is from some serious scouting last December. My buddy and I have never hunted this area, however he did have a camera out to confirm there are giants in this bigwoods! During our scouting we found an abundance of big buck sign. This place I won't set foot in until the end of October. This is the type of land where you might see one deer a day, but the one you see just might be a shooter.

Hunting close to home, within about 1/2" mile. Have deer and timber all around me with plenty of feeding area mixed in. Can walk or run the quad close enough to 1 tree stand and a walk to the ground blind and the other tree stand. Don't need to do any traveling. Put the ladders up for the hang on stand as well as cameras a couple days ago. Will hang the stands and safety lines in October.
What part of Iowa you heading to? I am in SW Iowa, about an hour North of Mo. and long hour east of Ne.
Split my season between the family farm in Ky, and public land in southern Ohio. If I tag out before November which is when I have my vacation scheduled I may head to Indiana for a three or four day public land hunt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Waterfowl hunting by morning starting August 15th. Whitetail at home in the evenings starting Sept 1st until January 4th where I will be heading down to WY for a goose hunt. Also, will make a few weekend trips down to my mom and step dads in the badlands for some spot and stalk muley hunting and free babysitting.
Will be hunting at home behind my house for the most part of the season. Will probably head to the northern zone of NY for a weekend trip when gun season opens earlier up there at my buddies camp. And then our yearly trip to OH for the late January muzzleloader season is a for sure thing. Actually going to make a call in the next few days to reserve the cabin we rented last year again for that trip. Next year most likely headed to KS and maybe Nebraska too.
