Ya know, Swamp Stalker - if you quit wearing that unicorn outfit when you hunt - you might see a deer now and then!
The camaraderie and getting to know your team mates is the best part of the whole thing for me. This past year I saw a lot of Sika deer and that was neat. Overall I had a crappy season but sharing in the experiences of my teammates made it a great season.
I am new to the forum and have not done this before. Should I sign up for this? I don't want to join a team and then not contribute because I have less time to hunt than I thought. Is there a way to join a team that is less serious or more suited for a first timer?
I had absolutely 0 to contribute to my team, but that's not what the whole thing is about to me. It's about getting to know other members of the forum better, getting to know them more than just a username. On another note. This thread made me think back to last year when people would be posting in the "Live from the stand" thread.... I cannot wait for the suspenseful tracking jobs! Successful or not, some members did an amazing job bringing us all along on the journey of finding their deer. I hope for a lot more of that this year.
Last year was the first time I was able to contribute to my team for the contest. This contribution was also my largest archery buck to date with bow so it was very special.
I assume there will be a 25 post minimum for people trying to enter the contest, since that's what the 2016 rules said. So if you're totally new to the forum like me, start making some posts!
Last year was my first year to archery hunt. I ended up putting down a 133" 8 point. I had great teammates last year. they gave me a lot of advice and support that helped me be able to land that buck. I'm looking forward to joining a new team this year and meeting new people.
I was the same way the first year, don't worry about contribution, although it helps, it's all for fun and bragging rights. I think you need to have a minimum post count to enter though. Good luck and don't be afraid to jump in.
Start getting actively involved in the forum. Make some contributions to the posts and you should be good to go. Its a fun time. If people get angry over the points then they are in it for the wrong reason to begin with. Just contribute to the team as best you can and be an active participant even if its just to cheer on your team mates
This will be my first year, I'm looking forward to it Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
LOL the live from the stand thread is awesome every year! Two years ago it was Finney "last one out" with a live Tracking for us to all follow along, and last year it was "sycamore twitch" with the honors of the live Trac! And I had a not so memorable moment LOL with my "live from the shower" selfie Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've enjoyed all the teams I've been a part of. Last year was the best so far!! I made quite a few new and good friends from that team!! I'm going to try to log more hours on the stand this year than I did last year!! Good Luck to everyone!!
Hoping to do my part and help a team score some points this year! Been watching bowhunt or die for years, but never participated in the forum until recently. Look forward to getting to know some of you a bit more.
I had a great time being apart of the shed hunting team for my "first team" this spring. Looking forward to getting to know some people I'll be on a team with this year for the deer hunting portion of it!
Had a great season with "Buck Brothers" last year, enjoyed the team comradery. "Live from the Stand" is awesome!!! September 9, NJ Archery Opener!!!!!!!!!!
Last year was my first year and I was with jeepswillys. It was super fun waiting for my season to really start and watching my teammates kill deer and watch them post in live from the stand. Looking forward to another year of it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
