Calling is key when running traffic. One caller sounding like multiple geese doesn't beat Multiple callers each sounding like 1 or 2 geese. Great job though at least you didn't get skunked!

Granted this was the only flock I saw today, quite possibly my poorest shooting ever. Embarrassing! Got one.

Part of spread and screenshot of video. [IMG][IMG]

Nice. I still haven't pulled the trigger on a goose. Shot another limit of doves this afternoon

Nice Dog. It's a struggle to find the birds right now. What kind of spread are you guys using for your early goose?

All the geese around here are in fresh cut hay fields or cut silage fields. We run the same setup all year long. We use about 120 silhouettes. Gotta hunt the X if they aren't migratory birds.

I have a really small setup of about 1/2 dzn full bodies and 2 dzn shells. Im not seeing the locals flying and that makes it tough since it's so hilly here. They could just be on the other side of a hill and I wouldn't see them.

Your best bet is to use Google maps and find roosting ponds or flooded quarry holes that the birds are using. Then just wait for them to fly out in the morning and see where they go.

Driving yesterday saw 20+ hanging with cows in a pasture. Pasture has a good sized pond too.

Those usually make for a good duck hole.
