Moving to a new state and trying to figure out places to hunt is tough. I've been marking spots on the map that look promising. Just need to take a drive and try and get permission.

Anyone around WI want to meet up this year to hunt? Lol I really can't wait until next year when I can purchase a boat and open up a lot of options.

If you were a little closer and I wasn't so busy in the fall I'd be down.

I haven't started scouting hard yet by any means but more geese are starting to show up all the time now. 17 more days until early goose opener! Might be a good weekend to dust off all of the gear.

I shoot a old Remington 870 wingmaster. Never have any issues. Hell.. I don't even clean it. It looks like it's been thru a couple wars. I bet it out lasts me and i still have another 30+ years in me.

My cousins husband went out early opener (15th) and got 38. Hopefully can have similar luck this weekend

How far are you from Madison?

We will have to figure something out so we can get a group and hunt together.

6 hours. Probably wont work out this year but should meet up with Shocker (and whoever else) in Rochester next year for a late season hunt.

Yeah I'll be pretty busy this year. I'm heading to MI to hunt with Mike for a few days. But I'm down for a late season hunt. You're only like 5 from me then since I'm little west of Madison. Which isn't bad at all.

Found a feed this morning before work with about 150. It's a wheat field with a small gravel pit in the middle. Hoping to get permission tonight.

Good luck. Not sure I'll be out for early goose or not. Went for a drive last night and found a awesome public land spot and then a little pond with at least 40 woodies in there. Still have some driving and permission getting to do too.

This year could be good for silage here. No one has started yet with all of the rain we've been getting so everything will be less than a week old when opener rolls around next weekend.

Same here. After today we will have had no rain for 3 days with high temps. Should be any day and just in time for the season opener.

I might be hunting a couple river systems this year since my buddy got a boat. For those of you who have hunted rivers before what style decoy weight are you using along with how many oz?

I have a dozen of mine rigged up with I believe a 8oz egg right now. Then another dozen that I just bought have the long lead weight that you can bend. Not sure on the weight of those

Well I called the farmer tonight and talked to his wife. She thought he gave someone else permission already but he was going to give me a call.

On a good note, got permission to my neighbor again this year for all 8000+ acres of his land! About 1500 of that is silage.

Nice. That's a lot of land to hunt.

Just pulled the trigger and committed to a Arkansas hunt for the end of the season. I can't friggen wait. It's been #1 on my bucket list since I was a little kid.
