Here in central zone Illinois it's Sept 1st - 30th for early goose. Bag limit is 5. It goes down to 2 for the reg season. To be honest in the areas I hunt we put a hurting on the locals for the first week then they get smart and chill at the golf courses and parks. After that there isn't an influx of migratory geese until 2nd or 3rd week in January. If we are lucky there is one or two weeks of good hunting. I'm an advocate of pushing the season back by at least a week maybe two where I'm at.

The daily bag: 5 Canadians, 3 specks, snows 50 and 6 ducks total with the daily limit may not include more than: 5 mallards (2 hens), 3 scaup, 3 wood duck, 1 pintail, 2 redhead, 2 canvasback. In addition to the daily bag limit of ducks listed above, an additional 2 bluewinged teal may be taken from September 23, 2017 through October 8, 2017. The daily limit for mergansers shall be 5 of which no more than 2 may be a hooded merganser.

^they make that so confusing haha.

Wv is 5 geese a day all season long. MD is 8 in the early season and then 5 for the reg dec-march season. VA is 10 in the early season and then 5 in the dec-feb season.

No kidding. Nothing like waking up in the morning, driving however far, setting up, getting ready, cooking breakfast, and killing your 2 geese in the first group that comes in. Lol. I still love it to my core but man I've expended a LOT of effort for 2 geese so many times. Guess it beats all the times I expended a LOT of effort for getting skunked!

I would prefer them to drop the daily limit to say 3 or 4 a day and extend the season to mid feb or early march.

Michigan early goose is September 1-30 and the regular season runs Oct 14-Dec 10 and then Dec 30 & 31. Early season limit is 5 and this year they increased the limit to 5 for the regular season too. This year we have the same dates and limits for specks and brants though I haven't ever seen either one here or have heard of anyone seeing any here.

For ducks our season is Oct 14-Dec 10 and then Dec 30 & 31. We can shoot 6 but we lost a pintail and gained a black duck as well.

Heck, we're only allowed 1 goose in our zone early season!

    Nice phone case!

I just ordered me the SX3 tonight, 12 gauge 3" 26" barrel - youth model. Was going to just go to the SX4 but didn't see much difference in them in the youth models.

A friend of ours got the SX4 - and it was way too nose heavy for me. Then the gun shop showed me the youth model of the SX3 and I was very pleased with the difference. I was really hung up on wanting the Beretta A400 Xtreme...I just loved the way that gun felt. But, at a third the price, I went the SX3 route, lol.

I snow goose hunted with a couple guys for a few years that both had SX3s and they absolutely hated them. According to them you REALLY need to baby them after each hunt but they were still having issues. Even got new guns sent to them to replace those and still had issues. Not trying to scare you and I hope you got a solid gun!

I really don't know what to think anymore. My husband has a VersaMax - and the thing is junk. Though, he hunts with others who have the same gun and no issues. (Husband's has been sent to Remington 3 times in the last six-eight months). We hunt with a couple guys at home that have the Winchesters and I haven't heard any complaints, yet...hopefully it is a good gun for me.

I second this! There are times out when I am a little behind the birds and rushing my shots and not swinging through on my second and third shots with one of my semis....always reach for my Nova when this happens and it gets me back on track!

A stoeger 3500 basically to simple to fail and if it it does its cheap enough you don't get as mad about it. I have had mine for 6 years and it has seen some pretty rough conditions with not a single jam. My friend has the same one and had me clean it because it wasn't ejecting 2 3/4 shells when I did it had mud packed in the perfect out line of the bolt but still anything bigger than target loads flawlessly.
